That is a tired straw man argument. It is the mark of a weak position to use straw man argumentation. |
That, to me, sounds like the mom checked in with the daughter after she made the decision, that quite likely she didn't talk to her daughter until the 24 hours were past, and when she did she gave a very biased account of what the medication does. |
Will the daughter be able to take her meds while she is pregnant? What will happen to the baby? Will the mother be present during labor and delivery? Will the mother continue to publicize the daughter's plight for her own selfish purposes? What is the father's take on all of this?

1. No 2. God only knows. Probably her mother will keep it. 3. Yes and then she will write about it once again invading her daughter's privacy. 4. Yes, Yes, Yes. She will write a book detailing everything, sell it to a made for TV movie, she daughter, and granddaughter will them have their own reality show. Mother will make tons of money. 5. She's a rape victim so unless they have apprehended him then he will keep silent as he would end up in the state pen. |
It was meant to be a "Meaning of Life" reference, but whatever. It doesn't matter how many times you point out to these wackos that further research has found that Plan B is in no way an abortifacient. Some of these people think the pill causes abortions. Some of these people think that even natural family planning goes against God's plan. So it's not really a straw man argument. |
Hopefully this was referring to the father of the young woman (the husband of the blogger) and not the rapist. |
Agree with all of the above, but I think PP was referring to the daughter/rape victim's father, not the blastocyst's father/rapist. |
|
If this story is true...
I can't help but wonder if the mother is even concerned with catching the rapist. Or if he. So caught, will she simply forgive him and thank him for the baby? Sick. With a mother who is bipolar with cognitive issues and a rapist for a father (likely with his own mental issues), what kind of life will this baby live? |
Not who you're responding to, but not only did I get it, I now have it stuck in my head. |
Well when her daughter's disease spirals out of control from having to go off meds thanks to the baby, and she kills herself, her mother can blog about how she was too good for this sinful earth anyway. |
|
Why was her daughter raped in the first place.
I think she was neglectful |
Oh, didn't you get the memo? All the pro-choicers abort their unborn disabled babies. They don't believe that disabled people should be born, let alone reproduce. |
I can't wait to see her blog post after he files for joint custody! |

there are a lot of reasons why i am calling BULLSHIT on this article. your daughter is brutally raped, injured so seriously that a nurse thinks she should be hospitalized, and then you go home, blog happily about mary cassatt and pedicures, and gleefully trumpet how awesome you are for burnishing your pro-life cred? either you are full of shit, or you are the Worst Mother In The World.
another thing -- they took her disabled daughter and did a highly invasive medical procedure on her (the rape kit). without you present. WITHOUT MOTHER PRESENT?!?!? the child is either a). a minor or b). has the capacity of an 8 to 10 year old (according to Mom's own words) or c). both, in which case MOM'S CONSENT is required for such a procedure!!! What the HELL kind of mother sits there while strangers conduct a rape kit on her possibly underage, definitely mentally disabled, raped and brutalized daughter? Sits there in the Gloria Steinem room, with soft music playing and hoopskirted women prance in pictures on the wall. BULLSHIT. either you are full of shit, or you are the Worst Mother In The World. oh yeah, and what the fuck kind of women's shelter has such beautifully appointed facilities? conference room? soft music? chintzy art on the walls? is this the Ritz Carlton of shelters? i wish to God that REAL women's shelters had that kind of funding. wrong. wrong, wrong, WRONG. some people are really goddamn loony. |
Your response doesn't hold much water with me. I know a number of people who are "pro-life" and not a single one of them is pro-death penalty. So now that we have that out of the way, perhaps you'd like to make a more intelligent response? |
