Decided to go to another bilingual charter. Not interested in trying to support Chinese language at home. Thing Yu Ying is great, but I'm not convinced that Chinese is going to be as important as all that, so we opted for an easier language (and one that we actually speak).

And, I'll admit, I was a little scared of the "tiger mom" thing. That just is not who I want to spend time with in PTA meetings and on the playground after school. Probably a minority of Yu Ying parents -- but I know at least two of them, and I just don't want to deal. Maybe my kid will end up at a state school

I can certainly understand all that. Let me ask, though, if you spoke Mandarin, would you have gone for Yu Ying?
