Another reason to stay in MD! Ugh. Elliott. What a schmeckel. |
This is me (if you replace MD with VA). Grew up in VA, live in VA, would never move to MD. Not saying I don't like parts of MD, I just love VA. But I'm sure a lot of that is b/c VA is what I'm familiar with... |
This is the silliest thing I've read in a long time. What part of VA were you in that you only saw Asians? And you didn't happen to cach one Lack person in all your travels through MD? There are lots of all different races and people from all around the world in MD, DC & VA. This is a fact. |
its not silly. look on a census map. big differences in where certain groups tend to want to live. |
| From MD and we would NEVER move to VA. We are gay and would never live in a such a bigoted state. My husband actually won't even visit friends there. Then again we wouldn't visit Nigeria for the same reason. |
| PP. correction, I meant Uganda. |
| The PG County comments are hilarious...and undoubtedly made by folks who probably haven't even been in the County. I've been to some areas of Arlington/Alexandria that would rival the neighborhoods of Oxon Hill. |
| Maryland is a higher tax state than VA and I have no idea what the schools situation is. Why would I take on a whole new state's politics and school issues when I can stay in VA where I know how to navigate the public schools? |
Agree |
See, we need people like you to come here and be voters! I grew up in CT, been in VA 20 years. I am a total democrat, liberal, unitarian from an LGTB "welcoming" congregation. I love VA. I live in FFX City. Small town feel, great schools, two minutes to metro, wonderful parks, nice people, very diverse, lots of conveniences and within a short drive of many things I like to do. Even traffic is not THAT bad as long as you work the system - flex your hours, use HOV, a hybrid, metro, what have you. I think of MD as being either high crime or unaffordable farm land turned into mcmansions. Not saying VA doesn't also have the mcmansions but NOVA also has so many nice old neighborhoods to choose from. I am very happy with the place I landed; no interest in moving. |
It's interesting because I think of Virginia as being full of hicks, rednecks and/or super-conservative right-wingers who have low levels of tolerance for minorities. Not sure why, but I feel VA is a bigoted and racist place to be. As a minority, I'm not at all interested in living there. |
well I am glad you don't live in Virginia because you are a moron. Virginia has the 8th largest percentage of blacks of the 50 states. MD and VA are essentially identical. same geography, same weather. The politics of MD outside of Baltimore and DC is identical to that of Virginia outside of NoVa and Richmond. Virginia has two democratic senators. Just so silly. Both have great public schools. |

Wow, ignorant much? Ever been to McLean lol? |
I'm a moron because of my opinions, yet you're entitled to your own? Yeah, I can see that Virginia is a very welcoming and nonjudgmental place to be. If you don't mind, I'll still take a pass.

That level of unfounded ignorance is breath-taking. You don't know why, but you still have an opinion on it. Idiot. |
