Yes, the ones that already go there

Do boundary changes start in 27-28? And are older kids all grandfathered in to their high schools? Will South Lakes families who want to participate in the IB program get to stay there? Some of our neighbors specifically moved to this neighborhood because of South Lakes. I know they're in the minority, but they're pretty disappointed. |
They should be able to pupil place there with no problem. |
Oh, there are plenty that are very close. Folkstone area and those off Reston Parkway between Folkstone and Fox Mill Rd. |
The neighborhood *Seema Dixit* picked to move-which is just one low income apartment building. |
There’s been a line of school board members cherry picking neighborhoods to move in or out of their favored schools. Kathy Smith and Elaine Tholen specialized in this. No point in slogging through all those boring meetings on the FCPS budget if you can’t occasionally engage in some good old fashioned self-dealing. |
Very close? Much closer than Oakton yes but Folkstone is not very close to South Lakes. |

Poll result:
Scenario 1: 26% Scenario 2: 74% |

Many Crossfield parents in the meeting.
They are very against Scenario 1. Fox Mill families support both scenarios. |
|
There will be only ONE scenario in the next round.
June 16. |
| Many people agree the revised scenarios are better than the original three scenarios. |
maybe they should change elementary boundaries so they make sense then. either way leaving crossfield at oakton is stupid |
Scenario 2 opens Skyview with only 1760 students from within the boundary. This has been structured to validate Reid’s goal of a hybrid model where hundreds of kids are pupil placing from outside the boundary for the pathways program. Could mean lots of extra vehicles clogging up the area - at a school that currently doesn’t have a normal-sized parking lot. And I wonder what they’ll do if this plan so guts Westfield that a lot of Westfield families who remain within the school’s boundaries try to pupil place to Skyview. |
| Is there. Q and a at the meeting? Ask who edited the maps after they were published. |
Not necessarily. There is a lot of development in that area right around Coates/Floris border (supposed future silver line elementary) that will add a lot of kids in a few years so I think those numbers make sense. |
