if you have St Ann's and Regis as 2T, I agree GCS is 3T along with schools like Packer and Poly.
I get the feeling that 2T is the smallest tier. |
+ 1. Why do some moms think they’re Jeff? They aren’t moderators. There’s the endless Brearley stuff: a woman constantly posts “do I have to report you again?” just because another doesn’t like the school. It’s so obnoxious, the tattletale nastiness. If you’re thrilled about where your children attend, you would never attack in response. Regis (I don’t have boys, I know a few graduates, and I know an incoming freshman) is an excellent school. If you’re looking at non-zoned public options in the city, you’ll have questions about it! Where it slots in relation to other schools is a normal inquiry FGS. |

Any list that mentions Saint Ann’s should be required to mention the crimes of Winston Nguyen.

This, too. Times change. Schools that some of you say ewwwww to as if you’re 8 and not 58, have very low acceptance rates. Getting in and doing well at most schools discussed here requires diligence and creativity and all that good stuff. I get the sense that a lot of mothers in particular take this branding to heart, and personalize what shouldn’t be. Why? Some of you need to take the stories of student self-harm and tragedies at Brearley, Chapin, and Regis more to heart and ask what the hell you are reinforcing in terms of competition. Discussion of same should not be verboten. |
Could happen at almost any of these schools. |
Stop ramming GCS Friends and Trevor down our throats. Ewwwwwwww |
Not me. Early in the day for your not actually satirical wine mom shit. |
| We can’t mix K entry vs G9 entry. For example, Grace Church has a lot of kids leaving after G8, so their HS entry is much easier. For K, it’s less than 10% acceptance rate. |

I agree about the OG TT 7.
If you want to rank high schools more generally, you should include public, like USNews. Excluding public makes zero sense, and is even more stuck in the olden days. But if you want to use the phrase "top tier" or tiers, yeah, the TT is set. I personally dont see the appeal of some of the TTs and wouldn't send my kids to HM no matter what - and would def send them to Regis (if I was a catholic) or St Ann's before it and a couple others - it's not really about "what's best this year". If you want to do a ranking of schools ala USNews, you should do that. Include all high schools in the city. |
| Long ago, the rumor was schools took in 9 th graders with stats that would likely to improve the college acceptance list. True or False? |
Niche does a ranking like that: https://www.niche.com/k12/search/best-high-schools/m/new-york-city-metro-area/ |
Now you’re whining on this thread? Let. It. Go. |
Not me, again. We can each post what we want, just as you want to be a rude crybaby per your personality disorder(s). |
Jeff is deleting your posts on a very specific topic because he agrees that they are inappropriate. I don’t personally care about your opinion on schools in general. |
None of my posts have been deleted. You are really out of control and need to learn to manage your emotions. |
