Husband can’t set a table and doesn’t care to learn how

Why is that a problem?

Do regular people really do this?

Yes, we regularly have need of a dessert fork, a dessert spoon and a sherry glass.

This is the job of the butler. Why would anyone else need to set their own table?

Because Princess is putting on airs acting like Tuesday supper is a State Dinner.

I'd love to know what OP serves. Obviously not buttered noodles. Some fancy pants stuff.

It's very important to cut up the pizza or hamburger with a fork and knife. Using the cutlery Continental style, obviously.

But with some cut up apples on the side for fiber.

I bet you also talk shit about people wearing white before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Newsflash, all of it is stupid.

Because it’s wrong.

Setting the table was a big deal when I was growing up too I don't give an effort about it now and it's not really mattered in my 41 years of life.

You seem to have overlooked the most important part of having meals together which is not where your glass goes and if your husband is using the right fork.

It's made up a relic from a bygone era and a symbol of oppression.

I had to stay with someone recently who didn't put out napkins and didn't use paper towels in the kitchen so I couldn't even just grab one. I survived. But just barely. It was baffling.

What a stupid, petty thing. Setting a table is not a "life skill." You don't need it to function, get through your day, week, month, or year.

Tip of the iceberg PP, tip of the iceberg.

Multiple the delinquent’s deliberate messing up on kitchen stuff times everything else 20x a week and what’s left? Yours living with a self centered belligerent ManChild. Doesn’t matter if he’s acting like a jerk on purpose or because he needs mental disorder meds and therapy.

Send him back to his parents. They can live like pigs together forever.
