I’m not a perv. I’m a taxpayer and parent and feel that I have the right to view video from a public location that uses public tax dollars to make an informed decision where or not to send my kids to school.

Get your mind out of the gutter.

What right does the school system, police, or the courts have to keep a misdemeanor private? There was no sexual assault
Involved, apparently.

And, what is fcps or city of Fairfax retention policy on school videos?

If this has been an issue for some time there should lots of video available, no?

Well, the judge saw enough to keep the perp jailed.

If it is video of a hallway, there are privacy issues for the other people. And, honestly, I'm not sure I would want a picture of my DD being groped in such a way.

What right to you have to obtain a copy of the video?

+1 The first thing I thought when I read the comment was "Ew. Perv. Why do you need to see a video of teen girls getting sexually assaulted?"

You have zero right to this. Zero.

PP with the perv comment. What exactly is it that you need to see to make your decision? My mind is actually the one that isn't in the gutter. I could make my choice just fine knowing that the incident occurred and there was video corroboration. The fact that you think you are entitled to see underage girls get sexually assaulted because you are a taxpayer is gross. You can't spin it any other way, sorry.

City of Fairfax released a statement in which they “express their support for and confidence in” the principal of Fairfax High School. Wonder what she’d have to do to lose their support? Blow up the school?

Foia

Foia has exceptions and those would apply here. If you think you would be ok with video of your dd being assaulted being publicly disseminated, you're high. And as a parent I would absolutely have an issue with this.

You can get the video of foia and since this sick illegal is an adult it would only blur our the faces of minor. Send this pos to cencot

Criticize the Party.

People who are instantly (and deliriously) making this about politics clearly DGAF about the victims.

Pathetic losers.

So, you don't like it, but do not want to acknowledge why it was allowed to continue.

This is 100% about politics. If not for politics an 18 year old man who grotesquely groped a girl in the hallway would have been expelled in the first instance, the school would not have allowed this to happen to victim after victim after victim, and the principal would not have sent out emails diminishing what had occurred. If not for politics the groper would have been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a minor, after the first reported instance, so once again, he would not have been allowed to continue. If not for politics, the state would have transferred the illegal alien to ICE and had him removed from the country. Your politics have led to an increased number of victims and a high likelihood that the groper will re-offend. Call me a Trumper all you want, those girls are victims because of Democrat policies.

Was it being reported to school admin but ignored, or did the girls not report it? That part is unclear.

Without politics, he would not have been here in the first place. Thanks, Joe.

She needs to go. Imagine being one of the girls who was sexually assaulted and then seeing the principal at your school trivializing the assault and thereby leading other students to claim the victims were overly sensitive.

This is just as bad as the Justice HS principal who posted pictures of herself smiling to highlight her own resilience after a student’s overdose. She apparently was encouraged to leave, and so too should the Fairfax HS principal.

She could have used the term "inappropriate" and this would have been sort of okay. But, instead she went with "butt slapping?"

My question is: how long did the principal know about this? When did the first girl report it? Was this a secret among the girls floating around without administration knowing or had it been reported?

I must admit that if this had happened to me at that age, I would not have known what to do about it. I was extremely naive. But, I guarantee I would have been extremely upset. I might have been afraid to report it.

But, I find it difficult to believe there were not other issues with this kid, as well.

This should never have happened.

100000%.

I was sorely disappointed by the Fairfax City statement. She is not student centered if this is how she handled things. Absolutely needs to be fired.

+100. I cannot believe Descano’s office was arguing for this guy to be released.
