Teri isn't a captive, that was a lie from Gary. They said the train was delayed, which is why Link's group went ahead. I'm not sure if they specified the reason for the delay but I imagine the writers could come up with something.

Why go through all of that planning with the explosion, etc. if what he wanted to do was eliminate Xavier from the equation altogether? Now Teri will know what Gary did. Seems so counterintuitive.

I actually liked seeing Jane’s backstory. She is a very good actress, I’ve been impressed.

I think maybe Bean told Terri and they fled to the train group. She didn’t seem to be there against her will. I think Gary was going to try to kill Xavier and take Terri back. Xavier realized just in time.

Yes, but why didn't Gary just kill Xavier much earlier, rather than pretend to go along with X's plan? It would have been a lot easier and Teri would never have known Xavier had come for her. Gary could have easily shot him as soon as Xavier appeared at the post office.

Probably because he knew Xavier could figure out how to penetrate the security at the train and give Gary the chance to take Terri

Gary never even needed to mention the train, just say that she left and point in the wrong direction. But I guess Gary thought X would help him get Teri away from the the train that was going in the direction that X wants to take her. Didn't make much sense.

It really doesn't make sense!

With three episodes remaining, I really did NOT want to have almost the entirety of one devoted to Jane. Super disappointed.

Agree. The "killer" reveal was fun but beyond that the character is not that interesting.

They really moved a lot of plot lines forward, but not one of the best episodes. The Gary resolution that he was a good guy who murdered his best friend was terrible. The Link is Dylan reveal might pay off later, but wasn't the holy crap moment it was intended to be. Jane getting knifed in the back by the shrink was a really lame ending to her story line, even assuming they bring her back somehow, she was supposed to be a Black Widow type super spy/killer.

Why didn’t Gary just join them on the train? And was anyone else gearing up for a mad dash to get Bean and the baby before the train left? I was sure there would be drama with that.

I was glad Xavier didn't have to shoot Gary. I feel a lot of empathy for him. He's always been alone, and then when it really mattered, he saved all of these lives. He took care of Bean like he was his own. Yes, he killed Ennis - but Ennis was quite the ahole to begin with. I wasn't sad to see him go, tbh.

It actually broke my heart when Gary was telling Teri how the past three years had been the best of his life. He finally had some semblance of a family and all of that was going away when Teri and Bean left.

Are we to believe that Link is actually Sinatra's son? How can this be? And who/what is Alex?

Maybe he could focus on not being Cray Cray and learning how to be around other people without hyperfixating. He could have had a friend if he had not been such a creeper.

Yup, that's where it's headed. It all goes back to when Billy murdered that guy that Sinatra took his company from I think. He said "if this works, you're going to need this" and he gave him a tissue because when people time travel their noses bleed. Link's nose was bleeding when he left the meeting with Sinatra. So somehow they're all time traveling.

As I said, he clearly had no family prior to this, so he'd always been alone. And now he'll be alone again. I feel empathy for people like that.

The bunker reminds me a little of a classic twilight zone episode from the 1960s where there is a false alarm fo nuclear war. A family goes into the bunker they built and their best friends/neighbors are banging on the door begging to be let in. Then it turns out it’s all a false alarm and they have to come out and face the best friends they were willing to let die a horrible death. It’s such a great episode because it sticks with you.

He went out of his way to save the kid, pretty nice of him.

I think when we are first introduced to Gary, we're supposed to think he's that stereotype, but he very clearly isn't. He is uncomfortable when Enis starts speaking in a vulgar way about the nurse. He's clearly attuned to the fact that Bean is neglected, probably abused, and starving. He never does anything creepy and in fact, when it's time to run for shelter, he ASKS Bean if he'd like to come with him, never forces him to at all. He's also a real gentleman to everyone in the bunker. So he's clearly *not* the stereotype the PP suggests. He's just a lonely soul who has finally found a purpose.

In that respect, while yes - he did kill Enis - I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Enis was not the nicest of guys.

I agree that Gary is sort of a nice guy and a deeply sad character. He said something that made me think he was neglected or abused as a child. I think the takeaway from this is that the disaster and living in a hole for years can do messed up things to your brain. He developed a really unhealthy attachment to Terri that was effectively like an addiction, and like many addicts, when someone threatened to take it away from him, he acted violently. I think the Gary thing is really sad. If he was just a really bad guy, I don’t think Terri would have been so set on saying goodbye in a nice way. She understands how sad it is that he never had a happy day in his life until she came into it. She was basically his lifeline, and she knows that. She had the memory of her husband and kids to get her through. He only had her.

She did that to safely extract Bean
