Oh how awful! I haven't even seen that episode, but your description will stick with me! Chilling. |
PP here - exactly. And he had Bean to take care of too. Now he has no purpose or anyone to care for and love. I think in the beginning when we see him as a postman noticing Bean's neglect, he understands immediately what's going on because he no doubt grew up in similar circumstances. |
Beam was already out. When Gary started getting upset, she hugged him so Xavier wouldn’t have a clear shot. She cared about him, even though she didnt love him. |

Can someone remind me of what sinatra’s son died of? I guess the plot is something like she went back in time to try to change something and part of it was to take Dylan and put him someplace else so he grew up without her and I guess was saved from whatever he had? I don’t really get how that works because sinatras husband and daughter clearly remember Dylan dying so if someone went back in time to save him, wouldn’t that change their memories?
And there was the message telling Jane’s mother she’s a killer, but it seems like that message is a big part of making her a killer … so is that circular, or was it intentional? I sort of hate it when tv shows depend on time travel because it almost never makes sense. Captain Janeway in Star Trek once said time travel was her least favorite class at the academy because with all the paradoxes, it just never made any sense. There was a British show with time travel that made a bit more sense because the premise was that you could only go back so far, and only to a predetermined jump spot. and it was a full reset of time from that jump spot on. Once the jump spot reset, you wouldn’t be able to go back again and that was just set in stone. |
| I think the time travel aspect is too much with this storyline - it doesn't need it. |
You probably shouldn’t watch the latest promo |
Voyager always did a good job with time travel, so did Harry Potter, it can be a great plot device with a good writing team. I'm really liking Paradise but I'm not sure they are going to pull this off. |
With only one more short season I do wonder whether they can end things properly. I think for viewers that aren’t paying close attention to every episode, it’s going to be disappointing. I’m planning to rewatch because in the beginning I didn’t realize how serious the show was and how every scene is important. Also, the year gaps make it harder to remember all the lore. A few things I’ve been thinking about -Did Jane fail with Torabi because the steamy shower had her flashing back to the sauna? -Has Sinatra ever said her son died? She’s certainly referenced losing him, that he’s gone, but I don’t remember her saying he died -Is the age difference between Hadley and Dylan/Linc different than it was before the bunker? I thought they were closer in age before they lost him? -Why is Dylan/Linc on such a schedule to reach the bunker. Is it because he knows Jeremy is engineering the doors opening since he’s already tried this in other iterations? |
| Kind of a letdown. Alex can predict the future. All the kids were saved, Teri was reunited with her kids, and Linc got to meet his daughter. The mountain came tumbling down but everyone got out. X has a new quest. |
| Alex, or more probably something like ALEQS, does much more than predict the future. It manipulates time and events, changing past, present and future. One of the key bits of info we learned is that it can answer an unanswerable question that hasn’t been asked. The implication is that ALEQS has or can acquire all knowledge that exists or ever will exist. ALEQS can tap into “God.” |
| I’m curious whether people have not watched the finale or if people are disappointed with the sci-fi turn Paradise took. It seems like discussion has really fallen off. |
This show has so many plots holes. Xavier and his wife meeting in a shared hospital room particularly irritates me. |
Omg that really annoyed me, too! |
HA!! Me too! When would you ever have a man and woman sharing a hospital room? That annoyed me so much. DP |
Wasn't last night the finale? We are discussing it... |
