POTUS calls U.S Olympic skier "a real Loser"

Trump: "Hunter Hess, a real Loser, says he doesn’t represent his Country in the current Winter Olympics. If that’s the case, he shouldn’t have tried out for the Team, and it’s too bad he’s on it. Very hard to root for someone like this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

We're ok with this ("Olympic spirit") coming from the POTUS?

He hates true and decent Americans. It's one of the reasons he hates Obama.

POTUS was pointing out, albeit crudely, that the skier represents the US and that’s all he needed to say.

The epstein files/pedo protection, ice concentrating people in camps, trump posting racist memes, etc etc are the elephants in the room, so to speak. The skier affirmed that none of this is normal. I'm ok with that.

I applaud it.

God, Trump is so boring.

Just root for the Americans and have a good time, for heavens sake.

Seriously. He needs to make everything about him. He needs to just shut up and do his job.

Why can't the skier speak about his views? Moreover, why is a skier subject to more scrutiny than the President? Perhaps the person who shouldn't have said anything is Trump.

They are getting asked by the press and others in every conversation. If they don't say they are against what is happening, they imply they are for it. I 100% support these statements.

Being called a "loser" by Trump is a badge of honor.

Are you saying that if someone doesn’t vocally oppose the actions of others, they support those actions? Just want to make sure we understand The Rules.

Let me break it down for you like you are 5. These athletes are from a country that is not just trampling on its Constitution by ignoring due process, not just abusing the human rights of immigrants with prolonged detentions without enough food or medical care, not just gassing it's own citizens, not just shooting its own citizens in the face and in the back and then refusing to prosecute the perpetrators, not just posting the most stereotypical racist memes and refusing to apologize -- not just all THAT, but also invading other countries and generally bullying, disrespecting, and giving the middle finger to the world.

These athletes are wearing Team USA uniforms and REPRESENT the United States. When people see their uniform, they think ICE! They think human rights abuses in 21st century USA! Everywhere they go, these athletes are being asked repeatedly how they feel about it.

If they don't separate themselves from it, OF COURSE they are associated with it. How could they not be?!

The same is true of every American in the US, by the way. If you are not denouncing the atrocities, you are a collaborator. The History books will be relentless and judge you as one of "Hitler's willing executioners."

A country doesn't exist without borders

MAGA gonna MAGA and make excuses for the inexcusable.

Olympic athletes who dive into politics are engaging in divisive behavior. It's their right, but complaining about the backlash is childish.

In particular, the skiing community has exposed the pernicious effects of limousine liberalism. Lindsay Vonn just destroyed her leg because she was too vain to retire when her body failed. Mikaela Shiffrin made naive comments about a life from which she has been completely insulated. And now this clown offers useless commentary because he can ski well.

It's not hard: Just wave the flag, smile, and compete. No one wants to hear your half-baked thoughts on anything.

He was literally responding to a question from a reporter about the current political situation in the US. Obviously some people do want to hear his thoughts because they asked him! Ok the other hand, no one asked you what you think so you should probably stay quiet

Reporters are known liars. Every single time I've personally witnessed events that have been reported broadly, the reporters flat out lied. Anyone naive enough to trust a reporter should be disenfranchised.

The reporter was looking for a sound bite and got one - that sound bite generated a POTUS response - even better! Create the news instead of reporting on it.

Why did Trump post a cartoon of the Obamas as apes? Trump is supposed to represent all Americans. I bet you think it was a nothing burger.

The skier is representing USA and if he isn't about the usa he should resign and find another team f that skier socialist
The skier represents the USA much better than the current President. And you should watch your mouth, because you're no model of deportment either.

(Also, socialism is great).
I bet PP, who hates socialism, was irate that VDOT didn’t clear the snowcrete from his street fast enough. Idiot.

The only internationally recognized facet of USA culture that Trump hasn't criticized is Mickey D's

It' so obvious that he's been personally paid off by enemies of the US that I'm only left surprised that he hasn't yet posted on his money losing parody of a social media site that the Americans cheated in hockey in 1980

Sports should be a place that is politics free. Represent your country and be proud , if not go to the liberal Olympics

Most Americans would prefer to see American Olympic champions stand up, when asked, against the current abuse of American values perpetrated by the current government. I don't want to see our Olympians just stupidly smile and wave the flag as if they are ignorant fools when asked this question.

I'd consider it a badge of honor if Trump called me a loser.

Also. Now we all now who Hess is. We already know that Trump is a sensitive snowflake loser.
