Principal Change at Herndon High School

The murder of a Herndon HS due to FCPS inaction is such a massive injustice and speaks to problems at the top. Administrators are incentivized to inaction and we should all demand more.

Not only that but not even a moment of silence for a student who was MURDERED. Students were not told about the incident. Victim’s parents gave permission for school to share what happened to their son, so this was not a matter of respecting someone’s privacy. A student died and HHS considers it as no big deal without even looking internally at what role it played or if protocols need to change. The principal who has left this week to lead an elementary school failed.

Unless you can actually prove this comment it is absolutely ridiculous and if you weren't hiding on an anonymous forum it'd be libelous defamation.

How is the high school responsible for this? The shooter is responsible. Law enforcement is responsible. If the dad did not call the police, he also has responsibility.

We do not know what the dad told the liaison. If the liaison did not tell anyone, that is on him/her. The liaison should have contacted law enforcement if what the dad said he shared. If law enforcement was notified, then that would be on them.
If the principal knew, then that is a problem. But, does the liaison work for the principal. Who does the liaison report to?

Where are the reporters on this?

And therein lies the problem. No one wants to investigate exactly what happened.

DP.
🤣🤣🤣. Gotta love the pretend armchair lawyers claiming that this is libel. I agree that you can’t claim the murder was a direct result of the school ignoring any calls that came in, but your attempt to chill criticism of the school system is just silly nonsense. You’re like the administration trying to sue mark Kelly.

😂😂😂

How do you know it’s not been investigated? Because no one informed you?

Herndon is now also having two admin (Cronin and Tochterman) swap with admin at different schools with about a day of notice.

The Cronin news is hitting the students especially hard.

Rumor is Choice is trying to get more of his lackeys in the school to fight union strength and school level admin decisions that are counter to his.

Well, I guess if it had happened at school, we would know more about it. Like Wooten.
Why didn't the news jump in more on this.
They interviewed council member in Montgomery County, superintendent, etc.

Its messed up that they did not give either of the APs any notice before the move. Literally did not tell them until last night. I love that they had an entire goodbye to Noto party afterschool, brought in her family and everything, knowing that they were going to move the APs and didn't mention it to the staff or to the APs themselves. People I know who do not work at Herndon knew 2 weeks ago.

How often does something like this (change of whole top admin) happen?

I heard that the father talked to the SRO who told him to make a police report. The father choose not to do that. I do not know what else the school is supposed to do before the fact. If there is a complaint about the response after it happened then that is a different story. A note that we will have support for people who need it may not have been enough

Any rationale for this?

With cronin leaving there is not a single male admin left at Herndon High. Young men and their needs are constantly being over looked by county leadership.

🤔 many rumors on what happened. Which is why an investigation is needed any time something on this scale happens. You need to know what happened; were procedures followed; if not, why not; if so, do they need changing. Losing a student like this is RARE.
