| Surprising that Herndon has or had 5 APs given its enrollment. Most schools with that number of students only have 4. |
Best advice we can give the young men is to have their parents contact the school board. It is an admin swap but we have no idea who is coming. I heard one is swapping with South Lakes and the other with Madison. |
And it might make sense if one was getting de staffed. They are swapping them for other admin. Number of admin is not decreasing. |
| What triggered this??? |
Tragic pun contained in your question. |
Unintentional. Just an expression. |
That wouldn’t be unlikely as it’s reshuffling within Region 1. |
Speculating here, Skyview admin just came out. Cronin is going to Madison, probably to replace Fasick (who is leaving there to go to Skyview). Don't know why they had to do it mid year though. Reid knew that they would need APs for the new high school and they bought it before the 25/26 school year. A little foresight/good management would have staffed these positions without the disruption. But given that FCPS leadership has proven time and time again that they are incompetent it should not surprise anyone that they would make a reactionary move instead of a proactive one. Is she the worst Super that we have had in the county? |
Cronin is actually swapping with an AP from South Lakes and that AP is coming to Herndon. Tochterman might be the one heading to Madison or somewhere else in the county? |
| Yes, I’ve heard Tochterman is going to Madison. But, I heard that is a swap too. |
We are not getting back a 5th principal. Cronin goes to South Lakes, Herndon gets Sara James and then we just have four principals rather than 5. |
Nothing matters to Reid more than getting Skyview launched. Anecdotally, it doesn't sound like they got 1000 kids from the five pyramids (South Lakes, Oakton, Chantilly, Westfield, Centreville) to opt into Western for 2026-27, so they are probably trying to figure out what to do next - open with a smaller enrollment; extending the opt-in period; and/or opening up the school to students outside the five pyramids. The more they can do to make Skyview seem like a real school now, which includes publicizing hires in key positions, the more likely they can open on schedule. |
She sure has a funny way of showing it. She should have set boundaries long ago. This uncertainty has kept people from opting in. |
The more uncertainty about Skyview's boundaries, the less enthusiasm about Skyview's ability to function as a traditional high school and the bigger opportunity to hype the pathways programs that interest Reid and draw students from outside the assigned boundaries. It's an end-run around what the community wants and the School Board directed, but the School Board members are far too stupid to put their feet down. |
And, they just added kids to Chantilly. |
