DP. I think they are victims if they are getting suspended. All that needed to happen was for them to be counseled to removed the videos, which are insensitive.

FCPS probably thinks suspending some Muslim kids will get them brownie points with the DOE, but they'll still be a punching bag as long as Trump is in office because Fairfax is blue.

They could find themselves getting sued by the families of the suspended kids, if lawyers can compile a set of similar videos by other student organizations at TJ, Langley, or other FCPS schools.

Honest question, if the videos are not supposed to depict the Oct 7 kidnapping the Jews, then what is reason they chose to depict this kidnapping? It's really bizarre.

This is insane. I'm as dem as they come, but these videos are totally inappropriate. These kids know better.

Should every Jewish student have to come out and condemn the Nakba or decades of settler violence in Gaza and the West Bank?

Bad judgment isn’t new. Langley was in news 2023 for suspending student for American flag with swastikas and suspending the student that reported the flag. Below is released to public photo that ran in local papers for context.

When you get white kids on video at high schools defending slavery, please post it here.

Plenty of Jews have condemned Israel's actions.

Haven't seen much on Oct 7 or condemnaiton of Hamas by Muslims.

The videos were not “mocking” Oct 7. It was a silly video that was letting students about the upcoming club meeting. Other videos have been posted on TJ social media sites that “depicted violent killing” and nobody cared.

Neither video was malicious, they were just teens making videos to get kids to come to a meeting and a football game.

"Silly" is not how I would describe the videos.
