Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
Sure, Jan All kids groups stage kidnappings with keffiyehs to encourage attendance. |
| Violence and hatred begets violence and hatred. |
The OP is trying to deflect deflect deflect here. This is a serious situation; don’t let people like the OP astroturf it. |
The parents at both schools are already furiously working to shift blame, deflect, cover up, play victim, etc. |

Decide for yourselves. Here is the actual text of the official email from FCPS:
Dear Langley High School Families, We are aware of social media videos featuring members of high school student organizations that were posted on accounts that are neither school nor division approved. These videos depict violence, including kidnappings, with victims being hooded and placed in the trunk of a car, among other things. Acting out this type of violence is traumatizing for many of us to watch and, given world events, especially traumatizing to our Jewish students, staff, and community. FCPS would never consider these videos to be appropriate or acceptable content. We strive to create a learning environment where all students and staff feel safe and respected. Social media content from FCPS students that shows unsafe behavior, harassment, or violence is a violation of the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities and can result in serious disciplinary action. Part of our daily work involves guiding our young people to engage in ethical and responsible behavior, including as it relates to social media. All official social media accounts associated with our school are managed and monitored by a staff member, who provides guidance to our students. But there are also unofficial accounts, which we do our best to identify and remove whenever possible. Our schools must be safe spaces for each and every one of our students, including ensuring students can exercise their free speech rights. But this needs to be balanced with equally important concerns relating to protecting students from harm. This starts by collectively committing to denounce all acts of antisemitism, Islamophobia, and hatred in any form. We must hold on to shared values of empathy, compassion, and respect for all people. As a partner in your child’s education, we encourage you to be aware of your child’s online actions. It is also important to have an open conversation about making safe and smart choices online, and how those decisions can have real-world impacts. Some helpful resources you can use include the FCPS Guidance for Technology Use and Digital Citizenship Resources for Families. I continue to welcome your thoughts and ideas about how we can make our schools and community a safe place for our children to learn and grow. Sincerely, Lawrence Stroud Principal Langley High School |
| Clubs should be disbanded and students who participated in the videos should be expelled. There is no place for “understanding” with this type of hatred, which typically starts in the home. |
And these videos were made at school. That is a problem. |
| Let's hope this is a teaching moment for the student's who made the video. Maybe their intent was innocent or maybe it wasn't. Only they know. However they will learn a lesson that not everything you post can be viewed as intended. It's good for them to learn now before they do something in college or when employed that can truly impact them. |
Exactly. This is so true - I hope it’s being investigated finally |
Well, remember when Abrar refused to vote on resolution in honor of 9/11 victims? She claimed her community was the real victim. |
| Does TJ have Jewish students? I thought only Indians and Asians go there. |
Why stop there? Let's pursue criminal charges against them and their parents. Call ICE.

I agree this Langley club needs to be disbanded. The principal’s description of it sounds atrocious and clearly in violation of the SRR every student signed. This is not a close case. Hate doesn’t belong in our schools. |
| None of you people posting actually saw the video. If you did, you would realize that it was not anything like the description in the email and had zero to do with antisemitism. |
I’ve seen that same scheme playing out here and on the WhatsApp. - they are trying to “flip the script” and play the victim here. The Langley MSA came up with this all on their own; no one made them do this. They knew exactly what they were doing and made a conscious choice to not only make it, but publicize it. They are most certainly not the victims here. |
