Asians can’t enjoy football at SEC schools so they go to so-called “grinder” schools while whites enjoy football and the social life at SEC schools ?? What a dumb, ignorant, provincial stereotype. There are whites who are “nerdy” or “grinders” and there are Asians who enjoy college football and who would fit in just fine socially at an SEC school. Signed, Asian parent in the South |
URM kids at private schools continue to excel. Many black kids at private schools come from well off families, doctors, lawyers, Wall Street. They usually do well academically because their parents are smart. I am not surprised that Brown or Penn love these black private school kids. |
Sometimes I wonder if parents maybe should cut the video games and promote education more instead of getting mad at the increase in Asians. |
Down to as low as 10 percent at Harvard two years ago per the NYT. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/16/us/jews-harvard-antisemitism-israel-war.html?smid=nytcore-android-share |
Whoa! Black American parents want their kids to succeed just as much as any other race or ethnicity. It's also true that even rich Black Americans face specific challenges that others do not. There are a lot of problems with the way college admissions work, including how it handles diversity, but it's hard to take seriously a person who can make a comment like this. |
Can't compute averages and trends. I bet you struggle with "per capita" too. How would you feel if you hadn't eaten breakfast? At least you're smashing the stereotype that Asians are smart... |
We'll see what the Brown and Penn numbers actually look like. My guess is your wild swing of self congratulatory speculation is off and they're also down substantially. |
I’m the poster above (Asian parent in the South). I see the trends. My math skills are fine. There are smart people of all races everywhere. My point is, the “white flight” to SEC’s may be driven in part by kids seeking a more fun or social college experience. But that “flight” to the SEC schools isn’t race-specific. There are also (very smart top stats ) Asian-American kids who are opting for SEC schools for the same reasons. |
Penn class of 2029 - 24% are from races and ethnicities historically underrepresented in higher education |
Merit based now. It's not a bad thing. |
It is 23% of the Class of 2028 compared to 25% of the Class of 2027. So around the same but no breakdown of race. |
lol. Honey, you are wondering why there are Asian maga? |
What are you quoting that from? Does that count international? Multiracial? What the black/Hispanic/native/Pacific islander/other breakdown? In short, it's not apples to apples with the Princeton numbers and wouldn't be incompatible with an American black student percentage around 5 like Princeton. |
Primarily Asian Institutions (PAI) are most of the top 30 especially when you include international students who are over 90% Asian. The schools don't want this information to get out as they will become less popular. |
