Since this woman’s death, approximately 900 Americans have been murdered.

Is the “MSM” supposed to make all of these national stories? Or just the white lady victims?

If a criminally mentally ill and/or (probably and, let’s be real) hopped up on drugs white guy - of which there are plenty - stabbed and killed a black woman, maybe a nice immigrant from Congo, I don’t know - it would be national news immediately. Her funeral would be televised. The usual people would speak at it. They would trend a hash tag. There would be think pieces and calls for racial reckoning.

Black women are murdered, kidnapped, and more throughout this country every day. I assure you, it generally doesn’t make national news.

Yes, we have all failed as a society by not prioritizing the homeless and mentally ill. But neither is a crime...

If his mental condition makes it difficult for him to control his violent impulses, that’s a powerful argument for his incarceration.

The guy was unable to function in society, and his record gave us a clue. We used to lock up people like this for the duration of their lives; it was a simplistic, and yes, cruel solution, but life-saving. They are a danger to others. It's like letting a rabid pit bull run around your neighborhood and insisting it has a right to run free, knowing full well it will eventually take down an adult getting out of their car with a bag of groceries or child waiting for a school bus. It needs to be removed for the good of the community.

It could have been any one of us sitting on the Metro, waiting for a cab, walking home from the supermarket. Doesn't matter what the criminal's upbringing had been, race, financial status, education. Dangerous individuals like this must be removed.
