What is your biggest stressor in life right now?

Oh man. My dad who is in the advanced stages of Parkinsons. My health (in cancer remission). I didn't work during cancer treatment and now the job market is terrible.

And last but not least, an insurance snafu, through no fault of my own, where my previous insurer (Aetna) is somehow under the incorrect impression that I had BCBS insurance at the same time, so they are now "taking back" the million that they paid for my cancer treatment. They are wrong, I had only Aetna (through my husband's work since I wasn't working) so presumably this will get straightened out but in the meantime they are having my providers pay them back and the providers are sending me bills in the thousands for stuff done in 2023. Awesome!

Money. I have 81 dollars in my bank account right now. I get paid on Friday, which I am very grateful for but after Saturday, I will be left with little money for two weeks because of everything that needs to get paid and I am freaking out a bit because school is starting. My kids need uniforms, they need school supplies and lunch money. It is embarrassing. I am a teacher and can not even afford to take care of my own kids but have to show up happy and unbothered every single day for other people's kids. It is mentally hard.

I am one of the earlier posters on this thread and came back to it. Seeing what others are going through helped put things into perspective for me. Grateful for what I have and am sending positive vibes to all of you who have posted here. Wish I could do more…Stay strong!

My child with special needs.

Micro level: he is difficult, doesn't want to grow up and causes a lot of grief in our daily living.

Macro level: my lack of career because of him.

RTO with dual feds. It's a combo of doing the work of 3 people (all my coworkers left due to RTO), zero telework, and then it's stressing out my home life. It's basically taken over my whole life now. DH and I can't get dinner on the table, our kids are all in daycare super long. Because of the extra work at our jobs, we are stressed and trying to decompress at home once they go to sleep, so less chores are getting done.

I'm not complaining to anyone else and I'm working through it all, but it's not what I want long term. My house is trashed, my mind is stressed and we barely get to see our kids now.

1. DH was a victim of identity fraud and all the usual steps (credit reporting agencies, speaking to all parties involved) have yielded no solution. Likely will need to sue.

2. Oldest child applying to colleges.

You can't sue over ID theft. You'll never find the person...unless they are unusually close to you.

Health.
Health insurance. We have it but CareFirst screwed up due to " manual error" and it's been weeks fixing it.

We would sue the company that issued the loan. They clearly didn’t do even the most basic diligence to verify identity. And when presented with irrefutable evidence that my husband did not take out the loan, have continued to insist the loan is legit.

My health problems and not being able to find a home to buy and move to. I'm middle age and never owned a home and feel like I never will. I'm very sad and very depressed.

Why do you want to own a house? Rent an apartment.

I’m pp. I’m stressed about my sister and on a macro level the cruelty of people. I need radical acceptance, but I’m really struggling with it.

1) twins applying to college and a spouse with super long hours so I’m the main parent supporting them through the process. I’ve helped my older child through this and it was pretty stressful, but two at once feels like too many balls in the air (even with a college counselor)

2) the state of democracy

The current administration attacks on my fed agency and work, and whether my job remains.
