What happened to Moderate Dems VA/MD?

This is my experience, too. And the few times I’ve tried to speak more moderately (not MAGA), I’ve been called names and told I’m ignorant. And when I’ve calmly explained I voted for Harris but have concerns, I’ve been told I am lying and I must be a Trumper.

I find some of my progressive friends openly hostile. I can’t have reasoned conversations with them.

Oh no. Poor bigots don’t like to be called out for their bigotry.

Perfect example here. What did I say that was bigoted?

But you did illustrate my point. It’s difficult to have a conversation if you’re immediately met with assumptions and unearned insults. And this, unfortunately, seems to happen almost every time I talk to a progressive coworker or friend.

And this is how the democrats lose elections. Moderates have been pushed out of the party.

No, they lose because Republicans push a sht ton of BS propaganda and the idiots were easily swayed.

It always starts with MAGA, which I’ve learned means “any view I don’t agree with.” Or I’m called ignorant or stupid.

I haven’t gotten racist or bigot. Well, until now. I was just informed I’m a bigot now.

Nothing about this statement requires the - Hey be a proud MAGA, but they rely on the idiots and you know it.

Because if you agree with any Trump policies you clearly are even if you're hiding behind "economic concerns" which of course he's also horrible at. I honestly can't believe any truly educated person believing a single word out of his mouth.

PP up thread who asked about names:
Here’s another example. Nobody has said anything remotely MAGA-like, but here’s the reference to being a MAGA and an idiot.

This is how conversations go. They shut down before they start. And this does impact my voting. I look for moderate candidates, on either side of the political spectrum, and I stay far away from extremes that can’t carry conversations.

And here’s another one. I’ve said nothing about my beliefs and I haven’t said ANYTHING about agreeing with Trump’s policies, yet posters are questioning my intelligence. All I’ve done is identify myself as a moderate who wants a reasoned conversation.

Multiple posters have now illustrated why it can’t happen.

You cannot question the party. Vote blue no matter who. The party picks a candidate and you vote for the candidate.

Someone who is actually reasonable about public safety and doesn’t want to reduce penalties on crime. Also, don’t tell me to vote for Babur Lateef (in the primary) he is super sleazy and will bring nothing good to our state. So out of the other remaining candidates which one is the most moderate?

You are not a dem. You are a maga idiot.
What do you not understand?

There is no Republican party anywhere in the US.

They are traitors full on traitors and we can not afford one criminal, lying traitor to be elected in the State of MD.

Andy Harris is a Republican in MD he's a dam liar and criminal and traitor. He has done nothing in office for the people that voted for him.

Republicans do not "respect voter control" you fool.

Shut up. I am tired of these lying posts.

+1

STFU MAGA bigots.

Seriously, are dems trying to lose again. Calling people "MAGA Bigots" because the don't meet an ideological purity test is a recipe for disaster. I don't like Andy Harris. He is a completely unprincipled politician that hates federal employees and wants to destroy the constitution. Literally, the whole point of this thread is asking a question about which democratic Virginia lieutenant governor primary candidate is the most moderate. John Reid and Winsome Sears are nutjobs. I don't want to vote for them.

Anyone bleating on about bathrooms and ExTrEmE leftists is a MAGA bigot.

I didn't ask about bathrooms, I asked about women. Someone brought up bathrooms for some reason. Liberals seem pretty obsessed about bathroom habits.

Because we’ve had countless threads like this. And, without fail, the OP is either a lying sack of sht troll and/or when you drill down on issues is actually MAGA.

Dp. Again, all you’re doing is driving people away. I voted D for decades. My parents were immigrants who didn’t go to high school. Dad had a blue collar job and thanks to the union we had healthcare and a nice small house in a good school district. I’m the embodiment of the American dream, having gone to an Ivy League school and been relatively successful and none have a family of my own.

Democrats have abandoned people like my family, legal immigrants with traditional values. I’m done. The disrespect and disdain for anyone who disagrees with the extreme edges of the party drives people away. This thread is just one example of it.
