Why do non believers like to hang around here?

+1. They are searching. Their argumentative posts are a form of foot stomping.

Religious people frequently seem to think that atheists are "searching" - presumably for religion. In fact, many atheists went through a period of searching before arriving at non-belief in religion.

Atheists haven't "arrived" at anything. Obviously. They are still searching and are clearly uncomfortable where they are.

In your mind, perhaps. Atheists are not searching for God. In some cases, they once did, and determined, often through study of religion, that he wasn't there. In other cases, they never believed in God, despite that fact that other people around them did. In some cases, their family didn't teach them to believe in God, so they never did.

Yes, they are searching for God. They just don't realize yet that He is the only answer to this endless search that they are on.

It's the Religion Forum. Where people discuss religion. There is no faith requirement to discuss religion, last time I checked.

This question is posed every year by strange people like you. It makes you look... not very intelligent.

We understand you don’t like religion so just go away.
Instead of posting so many stupid things here.

PP you replied to. I love religion, which is why I post. Also, I'm culturally Catholic.

I will defend anyone's right to post, as long as they're not overwhelmingly nasty.

***It is important that this forum welcomes all faiths, as well as atheists and agnostics!!!***

Correct,
But when the majority of posts in religion section are taken over by non believers it loses its meaning.
It’s will be like Restaurant and food section being taken over by people who like to talk about dieting.

Whose fault is that?

Could it be the religious, because of their inability to logically defend their position? Or, more likely, their desire to avoid the facts and evidence, or lack thereof?

I’m “just asking”. lol. Since that is a theme of this thread.

They don’t have to logically defend their faith.
No body is preaching to you here.
If I am asking specific question about Jesus from the gospel I want Christians to answer it or people who know about it.
I don’t want majority posts to be Jesus didn’t exist.

Then find a forum explicitly for Christians. This aint it.

Perhaps OP should spend more time in church and less time on this public forum.

And religious people who come here are obviously mind readers. (See above).

Hey - I'm an atheist mind-reader! I think that the religious poster who started this thread wants atheists to stay away from this forum because they want an echo chamber for their beliefs. Could this be incorrect? Not possible, even though no messages from God are being received, because there is no god.

If I am in fashion section,
I like to discuss with people who like fashion.
If I am in politics section,
I like to discuss with people who like politics.
If I am in Food/Restaurant section,
I like to discuss with people who like it.
Really it’s not complicated.

When you're in a section of the newspaper, do you expect to hear about only the fashion that you prefer? only the politics you support? or the food you like? I've never seen a newspaper like that. I do know about a cable TV news channel, though, but I never watch it, or any cable TV news.

I am talking about DCUM
If I am in fashion section,
I like to talk with people who like fashion.
But if you don’t like fashion move on, don’t hang around there full time to tell people fashion is a waste of money.

Yes, they do. They say “that fashion is out of style, it is so last year.” Pretty much every time.

You probably could have picked a worse example, but I cannot think of one.

Wrong. He likely does not exist, certainly does not exist the way you define him, and there is no good reason to believe in him.

I am searching, Yes, but not for a god but for a world based in reason and not defining itself politically based on Bronze Age mythology, and bad interpretations of that.

The topic is religion. Just as interesting as Politics and sports. Occasionally a topic in the new topics list will catch my attention

It is good to know some people come from new topics.

THIS. This is why I come to this forum, so I can have a good laugh at a try hard like this.

OP are you new to DCUM?

For ages, this has been DC area message board. DC is a super progressive city, so most long time users are...liberal. Agnostc. Athiest. Whatever.

Also, most users use DCUM through Recent Topics and do not actually read the forum, they just read the title.

And finally, religion encompasses ideas around religion, which may be a different God than yours, or that God doesn't exist, or that prayer in schools is good or bad.

How did you find DCUM and when?

If you want someone to keep blowing smoke up your a$$, that's what Sunday school or Bible study are for. If you post to an anonymous online forum, you are going to be exposed to truth, even if it's hard for you to read.

Not new but I didn’t know more people came from recent topics.
Anyway my pet peeve is with one or two frequent silly posters.

Why do people keep asking questions about athiests or non believers?

Also, try a search. This question has been asked and answered before.

Thanks,

But unfortunately there are some full time dwellers.

How would you know? Unless you are a full time dweller..

Great question for the PP…
