Why do non believers like to hang around here?

It's the Religion Forum. Where people discuss religion. There is no faith requirement to discuss religion, last time I checked.

This question is posed every year by strange people like you. It makes you look... not very intelligent.

We understand you don’t like religion so just go away.
Instead of posting so many stupid things here.

PP you replied to. I love religion, which is why I post. Also, I'm culturally Catholic.

I will defend anyone's right to post, as long as they're not overwhelmingly nasty.

Is these an invite only space?

No, but when you see more posts from people who are non believers it makes it strange.
If you don’t like religion just don’t hung around.

You don't need to believe to LIKE various religions. How can you not understand this? The mechanisms of faith are fascinating and religions are often discussed by non-believer scholars in terms of their social, economic and political impacts.

This forum is not a "safe place" where you can complain about people who don't think or believe like you.
This is a place where belief, and non-belief, can be legitimately challenged.

Feel free to report rude posters. There are many.

OP I assume you are being intentionally provocative and trolling. I also assume you know that atheism is a position on religion and this is a religion forum, so it would be unusual to post an atheist position in any other type of forum.

If I did not assume those things, I would have to assume you are just really, really stupid. But I don’t think that is the case.

Maybe you are strange for expecting to only hear from religious people on a forum titled "Religion"

Religious beliefs are largely shaping our public policy right now.

It’s like foodies hanging around people who like dieting.

I saw your post under Recent topic. Nobody hangs around any forum except maybe parenting ones.

+1. They are searching. Their argumentative posts are a form of foot stomping.

Religious people frequently seem to think that atheists are "searching" - presumably for religion. In fact, many atheists went through a period of searching before arriving at non-belief in religion.

They are either curious or volunteer to save people from scam of religion. I don't see it any different than Mormons or Jehovah's witnesses knocking at random doors.

Agree. Non believers can’t ignore religion right now.

Ironically atheists seem to be the active majority here.

I think atheists hanging out on the religion forum is quite different from Mormons or Jehovah's witnesses knocking at random doors.

I think an apt comparison would be atheists knocking on random doors for the purpose of converting people to atheism which you never see.

They usually are, because higher education and wealth, which DCUM attracts, generally tracks with reduced piety. Therefore this is statistically unsurprising. The majority of us did grow up with church/temple/synagogue/mosque affiliations, and even if a lot of us do not practice anymore, our core values are deeply influenced by the religion(s) we grew up with.

It doesn't mean we can't have respectful conversations

I don't get why most religious people are only interested in imposing their religiosity on others than practice it themselves. To be fair, most atheists aren't any different.
