+1. Also not a believer, and very secure in that, but I am more familiar with the bible (and its contradictions, frankly) than most self-professed Christians, because I'm fascinated by the subject and I believe it's important to understanding the world and our culture. I love respectfully learning about others' beliefs, and am happy to provide my own thoughts when people are curious about how someone who has received The News is still a non-believer. As for an even more direct answer to OP's subject-line question -- it's because you seem to constantly have so many questions for us, we can't help but oblige. |
You do, apparently! Welcome to the hand. |
I heard that confident religious people don't bother having on-line conversations with godless atheists. They also try to avoid atheists IRL, but they are difficult to pick out unless they are actively displaying their irreligious point of view, the way some religious people do, with pendants, etc, displaying a religious symbol, e.g., a cross. |
Like you? Why even comment on an obvious atheist thread? |
No, I’d be thrilled if Jeff removed them from Recent Topics. |
Yes, because you MUST click on every link in recent topics. There’s no way not to! Someone should fix that. |
“Non-believers” proselytize their beliefs more than any religious person I’ve ever met |
Maybe it just seems that way to you because you don't want to hear about lack of religious belief and you like to post on the religion forum. |
Yeah? Find me one post with an atheist telling you to stop believing. After you look up the meaning of the word “proselytize”. You’ll find many which ask you to defend your beliefs. If you consider that “proselytizing” then that communicates how you feel about the strength of your beliefs, doesn’t it? |
As I said, sometimes the smelly sandwiches are too offensive to just ignore. They pollute the whole room. |
There is more data if you follow the link. |
And it's all old. |
Because we love to look at those that believe in fairy tales and how it works out for them. 10,000 different gods, which one is CORRECT one. |
Yeah, We are child free by choice we don’t believe in having children but let’s discuss parenting philosophies with you parents because we are interested in it. But, those people are mostly Antithesis pretending to like religious discussions. |
GOod point -- you don't find any atheists saying you have to not believe, otherwise something terrible will happen to you (i.e., you'll burn for eternity). Atheists think that we all go to the same place when we die. The same place all living things go. Nowhere. |
