It's the Religion Forum. Where people discuss religion. There is no faith requirement to discuss religion, last time I checked.

OP, they do it because they are questioning or insecure in their beliefs. Confident atheists have no use for religious talk and could not care less about online religious debate with anonymous middle aged moms.
