If I did not assume those things, I would have to assume you are just really, really stupid. But I don’t think that is the case.

Very true.

OP just woke up on a slow Saturday and decided to attack some people, with the "I'm just asking!" spiel.

+1

OP is a troll.

What would the point of that be, and who would it benefit?

Asking sincerely.

The real troll is the OP
Who started “why do children believe in Santa and grownups believe in GOD”.

No, it isn't. Jeff has been asked to do this before and said no.

+1. They are searching. Their argumentative posts are a form of foot stomping.

Religious people frequently seem to think that atheists are "searching" - presumably for religion. In fact, many atheists went through a period of searching before arriving at non-belief in religion.

Atheists haven't "arrived" at anything. Obviously. They are still searching and are clearly uncomfortable where they are.

In your mind, perhaps. Atheists are not searching for God. In some cases, they once did, and determined, often through study of religion, that he wasn't there. In other cases, they never believed in God, despite that fact that other people around them did. In some cases, their family didn't teach them to believe in God, so they never did.

Yes, they are searching for God. They just don't realize yet that He is the only answer to this endless search that they are on.

THIS. This is why I come to this forum, so I can have a good laugh at a try hard like this.

Did the before quoted poster go to church today and pray for our eternally damned souls? After all, it would have been the Christian thing to do.

In some Christian sects attending church on Sundays is required under pain of sin.

Why? Because religion is an endlessly fascinating topic that delves into the psyches of people. And outside of the spiritual aspects, I am interested in the actual life of Jesus.

Are you interested in the actual life of Santa Claus too? What about Siddhartha Gautama or Zoroaster?

DP - please explain the differences between the PP's examples and Jesus.

I'll let you leave out Santa if you want.

It's only trolling to you since you can't present a reasonable, logical argument. Instead of name calling or deferring from the question posed, make your defense.
