“That cream in your coffee every day will catch up to you”

Anonymous
It depends on your body. It does add up if you drink a lot of coffee. I drink 3-4 cups per day and was using half and half. I never measured so I can’t give an exact exact amount but probably 1 tablespoon per cup. That is a lot of extra saturated fat. When my cholesterol came back borderline high, I switched to walnut milk and after a year it was much lower

This is dumb. Not really enough to do anything if you are active.

The added calories sure make a difference.

The caffeine itself also causes weight gain by increasing cortisol levels.

This. I am overweight ( 178) but my morning coffee with 3 sugars and half and half is not what I’m giving up. It brings me joy.

It is the sugar. Use Splenda.

For me it did. But then again I drink 3-4 cups of coffee in the morning. A splash of half and half x4 daily over many months/years can be a lot of extra calories and saturated fat. I eat pretty health and am not overweight, but at 38 my cholesterol was a bit high. Total was just over 200. I switched out half and half for walnut milk in my coffee and cut out red meat and at my next check up my cholesterol was down to 175. I’m 41 now and it’s stayed there since I ditched half and half

Ack! Do not use Splenda or another artificial sweetener!

Which you will burn off by breathing for an hour.

Are you overweight op? I mean, if they said "will catch up to you" it means it is not showing and some horrible petty person was trying to bring you down.
As an example, I ate eight!! slices of that Japanese cake from Costco yesterday, and then ice cream, in addition to Korean fried chicken. It has caught up to me a little, I am 125 lbs at 54, and before I was 107. But, I was so happy eating all that food and do not give a s*it!

I just researched your last statement and found it to be unsupported, particularly in those who drink regularly, but not at times to interrupt sleep. It will temporarily spike cortisol if you are an infrequent drinker, in which case, your random cup of coffee isn't going have a huge impact on weight. Mores studies support the opposite claim for black coffee.

I am unfamiliar with Japanese cake from Costco and would love to learn more.

I will try to find more about it and post a picture. They had it a few months ago and they keep for a long time.

I took a “world of chemistry” course at university, which was taught by a top medical doctor. He said Coffee Mate is the worst of the worst for our health due to high concentration of trans-fats.

Yes, it caught up to my dh. He's switched to only 2% milk now.

You can use cream or creamer or half and half when you are younger, but by middle age it's going to hurt.

Health guru = engagement farmer.

Assuming your "splash" is a tablespoon, it's ~18-20 calories vs. 10-11

Feel the same about my 1/2 & 1/2. It is not what’s going to kill me.

+1 Unless you are pouring in 1/2 cup, it's not a big deal.

1 tbs is 19 calories, and you need to walk 5 min to burn that off. Just walk up and down the stairs several times, and you've worked it off.
