“That cream in your coffee every day will catch up to you”

Saw this on a viral health guru Tiktok. Is this a valid concern or borderline eating disorder? I have no idea how many calories are in a splash or heavy splash of half & half cream. Not those flavored ones, just fresh half & half. And I don’t put sugar in my coffee.

Trade out for skim milk

yeah well I go to the gym everyday and love my hazelnut creamer.

Under food tracking rules, you should know how many calories are in that splash. I weight watchers, they used to say to track every bite, lick and taste. But if you don’t have weight issues, no need to worry. And don’t get your health advice from tik tok.

You are fine.

I think it just means be sure to "count" it in your diet, for those who count.

Skim adds nothing to coffee. Like a splash of cold water.

20-40 calories in that splash of cream. It really varies because it’s not like you measure with a tablespoon when it’s self-serve.

Unless you’re counting calories and trying to lose weight, it really doesn’t matter. You’re not suddenly going to wake up fat because you’ve been having cream or milk in your coffee. But if you're trying to lose weight, it’s an easy thing to cut.

Feel the same about my 1/2 & 1/2. It is not what’s going to kill me.

It’s TikTok. Where you also see people making their coffee drinks with about half a gallon of creamer and a splash of coffee. Yes, cut THAT out and you’ll probably lose weight. The Tbsp of creamer you’re adding isn’t that big of a deal.

Also don’t take health “advice” from TikTok

I figured maybe I had 100 cal of milk or cream in my coffee a day. That could maintain 10 pounds of body! I drank it black for a year. No discernable weight loss. I went back to what I used to do. No gain.

I’d rather be fat than give up cream in my coffee.

I’m always on about calorie counting because it helps you avoid this type of madness. There are really so few calories in a tsp of cream that anyone who says that is dumb. Also stop following that person on tik tok. And I say this as a black coffee drinker!
