It was stated by Kamala Harris. She was trying to make everyone understand how under control they have it and she said everyone would get $750. Blame her if it is wrong. She said stupid stuff but she is actually running to be president so shockingly people believed her. Anyone who needs it, gets $750 on the spot so people have cash to get immediate supplies. That is nowhere close to the extent of what people who need it, can get. What Harris said isn't wrong. MAGAs willfully taking that statement and weaponizing it against her is outright disinformation and unAmerican.

For the people hardest hit, they don’t even have stores nearby that are open. Get a clue.

From what I can tell other then emergency relief there is low interest loans and some grants for repairs (which seem generally small). Charities also provide some rebuilding assistance. But nobody is getting their million dollar home rebuilding fully paid for without insurance or personal funds.

Yes FEMA has never paid outright for disaster victims to rebuild their homes. My parents went through horrible flooding in the Midwest in the 70s when I was a kid; they got a low interest loan for repairs from FEMA and I think the SBA administer it but I could be wrong on that point. FEMA has never paid outright for repairs. Plus don’t we hate big government??

Where? With what funding? I doubt FEMA has enough to handle another response without Congress appropriating additional funding. Of course, the House GOP is on recess for the foreseeable future.

It doesn't, and shouldn't all be on FEMA. There are resources which are huge, well-funded _to the tune of BILLIONS of Federal and State dollars) which are available in every state. And are RARELY tapped in to the way they should be.

It's called the National Guard.

Florida alone has more than 11,000 National Guard troops. Like every other state they get huge amounts of money from the Feds.
