Good one. |
Thank you for posting this! I just saw a FB post claiming this so I was able to reply with this info. |
They have the funds. Excuses, excuses. |
+1 And no internet service, working computers, or cell service. Roads are washed out. Can't get to service centers. |
Yes FEMA has never paid outright for disaster victims to rebuild their homes. My parents went through horrible flooding in the Midwest in the 70s when I was a kid; they got a low interest loan for repairs from FEMA and I think the SBA administer it but I could be wrong on that point. FEMA has never paid outright for repairs. Plus don’t we hate big government?? |
Loving all the folks who “hate big government” and “hate all the government handouts” and “hate paying taxes to support the government” and then demand their own government handout when they face an unexpected challenge. I get that people are hurting now, but what makes your hurt so much more deserving than that of every other American? |
+1 don't Rs say that charities should take over the responsibilities of government taking care of people? Aren't there a lot of those wealthy mega Christian churches, especially in the south, that can help out? What are they doing? |
Huh, I thought it was God that was controlling the hurricanes. |
Locking the doors, just like Joel Osteen did when Texas flooded. |
They are organizing militias to kill immigrants and gays. |
My god, shut up. Spewing garbage like this helps no one. What is the matter with you? NP |
Do you have any idea how appropriations work? No, apparently, you don't. Just like you think the President can waive a magic wand and control the economy, energy prices, the stock market, fix disasters, etc. |
It doesn't, and shouldn't all be on FEMA. There are resources which are huge, well-funded _to the tune of BILLIONS of Federal and State dollars) which are available in every state. And are RARELY tapped in to the way they should be. It's called the National Guard. Florida alone has more than 11,000 National Guard troops. Like every other state they get huge amounts of money from the Feds. |
