Harry has no role with this family beyond youngest son. William's kids are the heir's. I don't get the expectation he work for his brother and do what ever tasks his brother doesn't want to do. He was the spare. Now he is replaced so he has every right to live his life. However he was wrong to go to the press. He should move on and forget them, like the rest of us who do with difficult parents and siblings.

I think you're reading too much into it. I think this is just a formal, PR-driven acknowledgement of a milestone birthday. If they ignored his birthday completely the optics would be terrible, and they (William/Catherine) would have opened themselves up to a lot of criticism.

Surely Harry went to Charles and said "you need to shut Camilla and William down with all their leaking to the press" before they felt they had to leave. Charles did nothing. So yeah, they wrote about it afterwards.

Regardless of which people in the family you believe, loving family members don't trash other family members the way we heard Harry and Meghan do in writing and on TV. Absolutely theur choice to do so. Now they need to live with the consequences of their actions. If anyone in my family did that to me and/or my spouse, I would be polite, smile, engage in small talk about nothing in particular...period. Wouldn't trust them again ever.
