It's so sad to live in a multi-million dollar home and travel the world but just can't seem to afford security to visit your family. YAWN.

William did virtually nothing for 8 months this year, including two months' holiday in Balmoral at the end of it all. He couldn't get on a plane for a few days?

It’s not just about security. He wants to be informed of any threats, especially terrorist threats, to him or his family. His security doesn’t have the equipment for that.

You would think his father would want the utmost security for his son, grandchildren, and their mother.

His security also can’t carry guns. Like who gives af about the ability to pay if your life depends on someone who couldn’t even protect you from an armed 12 year old.

William and his lovely family are fine and well-protected.

And there it is. Some of us are on the fence and haven't chosen sides. I honestly don't know who in this story is worse, but I'm suspect there was bad behavior on both sides.

But Kate's supporters are invariably full of bile and hate, not to mention frequent racism and misogyny.

Camilla and William have shown they'll say (via "palace insiders" if necessary) anything to the media in return for positive coverage. Your point?

My point is I wouldn't trust any family member or "friend" who would go to the very public media and get paid for trashing me in a book and on television. Perhaps you are okay with that way of dealing with family. There's a reason Harry and Meghan don't have close family relationships.

I wouldn't trust any parent who raises a child from birth to be a spare. There is a reason that younger royals routinely go off the rails

Great. No family ties for you, Harry, and Meghan.

Right, everyone involved seems fine with that. It’s the fans online that can’t stand that Harry isn’t begging to get back into the fold.

Most people don't care at all about his being back in the fold. They just want him and his lovely bride to live their lives without criticizing their families publicly.

Who cares one way or another though. I didn't read Harry's book and I only saw snippets of the Oprah interview. Have they done anything else -- it seems like they've been pretty quiet and low key since then unless I'm overlooking press leaks or something.

I think Harry felt he needed to explain his decision to leave the family publicly and I also think the British press were so aggressively nasty and racist to Meghan that she felt compelled to state publicly what a toll that took on her especially during and right after her pregnancy. I think it felt like a public ordeal to them and they put a public period on it. Plus no doubt the proceeds from the book were useful to them (I don't judge -- everyone is trying to make a buck). But it's not like they are in the press every few months telling tales. And the family has been leaking embarrassing things about Harry literally his entire life, even when you was just a teenager. They still do it -- there were leaks about him around the Queen's funeral and the coronation and his dad's cancer diagnosis. So it's just odd to be upset with him for playing that game when he's been on the receiving end probably more than most.

Agree, it seems hypocritical for posters here to criticize Harry for his book and Oprah interviews a few years ago, when the family has been leaking about him all his life and continues to do so.

It’s not hypocritical of Harry but rather predictable what would happen. His parents actions led to their divorce. His led to the ending of his family’s relationships. Even if they wanted to call it even is there enough trust for any message other than Happy Birthday once a year? The 2 boys are on different paths, and they’re estranged. It happens.

PP here. You're omitting that BP's and KP's actions led to his departure and book. Camilla reportedly leaked negative things about H and M to Piers in exchange for more positive press coverage. Harry believes William or KP with his sanction were behind the leaks about Meghan. And that's what Harry wrote about. Cause ===> effect.

But I agree they're on different paths and reconciliation seems unlikely.

He makes a lot of claims in the book because he knows the Royal Family does not respond so he is free to trash them without being sued. Belief does not mean facts, as we have seen with our former president.

The royal family absolutely responds--through leaks from "palace insiders" to favored tabloid stooges. You know this happened when Meghan was in Britain and it continues to happen today with all the press around Harry's visits. These ugly leaks were a main theme of Harry's book and he theorized that they were getting too popular plus Camilla was leaking in exchange for more positive press treatment.

If you're talking about Trump, I agree 100% with you on that!

Their lack of popularity today can only be blamed on themselves.

Sure. And BP and KP leaking negative stuff to the press had nothing to do with it. Keep telling yourself that.

Actually, it's the whining and grifting we can't stand. Everyone is fine with him putting the past behind him and moving on with his nuclear family.

The book came out almost two years ago. Again it’s the fans who haven’t stopped whining since. Harry’s moved on, at some point y’all have to, too.

Hmmm...the book is gone? No paperbacks? No recordings of Oprah's show? Yeah, everyone move on....

He keeps dropping hints about a follow-up book, and Meghan wants to have her own book. Who is not moving on?

They signed a three-book deal. We--that includes you--have zero idea what the other two books will be about. Maybe Meghan will write a recipe book, who knows. They're doing a show about polo apparently. So stop with the ugly speculation already.

An old adage: The best predictor of future actions is past actions.

His recent past actions include refusing to promote the new paperback or add a new chapter of updates to it. You're an incorrigible hater.

I have never expressed hatred towards anyone and certainly not my family members but I guess ypu are not aware that printed materials and televised programs are available for readers and viewers forever.

So, you choose to ignore the points that (a) he's refusing to promote or update the paperback version of his book, (b) he hasn't said anything about the BRF since the book and Oprah, and (c) the BRF continues to leak about him, with tidbits about how, for example, the Queen supposedly hated that they called their daughter Lilibet, his recent travels to Britain, and so on and so on.

Harry has had a beard for several years now, I'm not sure how long, but it's not news. William grew his beard at some point over the summer while he was on holiday-not-working or on holiday-in-Balmoral.

Actually Charles has a pretty good sense of humor. He was saying something along the lines about what he wanted to be reincarnated as and the joke was with his luck he would come back as Camilla’s tampon. But people keep repeating this which just goes to show they don’t either understand jokes or don’t know what they are talking about.

Not quite

Did you read? It’s quite clearly a joke. He doesn’t say he wants to be a tampon.

“Camilla laughs: “What are you going to turn into, a pair of knickers? Oh, you're going to come back as a pair of knickers.”

Charles replies: “Or, God forbid, a Tampax. Just my luck! My luck to be chucked down a lavatory and go on and on forever swirling round on the top, never going down.”

LOL this is his elite sense of humor that we just don’t understand?! You’re not helping him, PP!
