Question for someone who knows: is there anything voters can do to actually convince Biden to step aside?

Because he had a cold during the debate.

The cold miraculously disappeared in North Carolina the NEXT DAY.

How does that happen?

A slice of the population will believe (or say) ANYTHING! And then complain about others lieing.

Sources say that Biden has 6 good hours every day in which he can function well enough to seem normal-ish. Outside of those 6 hours, he can’t function well. I would guess the speech in NC fell within his good hours.

US President Joe Biden skips dinner during G7 summit in Bari, Italy

https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-president-joe-biden-skips-181403244.html

US President Joe Biden is not going to attend a joint dinner with the other leaders of the seven advanced industrialized democracies attending the G7 summit in southern Italy on Thursday evening, the White House said in advance.

Washington did not give a reason for Biden's absence but he was due to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the evening to sign a security agreement with him and hold a joint press conference.

Biden was the only VIP to skip dinner and no explanation was provided as to why he didn’t go. Probably outside of his 6 hour window.

The speech in NC was an improvement on his debate performance but still not normal in places. His speech goes in and out. It’s like searching for clear radio stations on the radio. You scan through and some are clear; some are static, some are almost understandable but have static. His speech is like that. The neurons in his brain are not working well without medication, and then the meds may not be able to be dosed 2x a day due to side effects. Or something. We don’t know because his health check up was falsified and his real medication was omitted from the report too.

I did. I said so on this very board that Joe shouldn’t run again because he would be 82 on Election Day. I was told by more than one poster—probably posters that now desperately want him to step down—that we need Joe to run because he beat Trump once before.

People pretended that we don’t decline as we age, and now reality is smacking them in the face.

Where’s Trump’s health report? Two of his siblings died in the past several years. You think he’s immortal?

Like it or not, I think that Democrats and much of the media have actually helped to strengthen Trump because he's seen as a warrior who gets everything thrown at him but keeps getting back up. Many people have admiration for him because they think he's been treated unfairly. They identify with him.

At least before the debate that was true, not sure where we are now but I suspect the same place.

I voted for Biden as a transitional president with the understanding that he would promote Harris next. I know so many are saying people do te like her bit is that really true? If so I am so disillusioned with the D party.

Don't care. Shut up and vote D.

This is what sinks the ship.

I read today that DNC is reaching out to swing state voters and listening to big donors. Honestly, eff them. If they don’t care about people in all states and regular donors, that’s their problem. Not the voters’. If that means Trump wins the election, that’s squarely on Biden and the DNC.

Sure it’s squarely on Biden and the DNC but what comfort does that give you, to be able to blame them? I don’t care whose fault it is. I want to avoid another Trump presidency at all costs. It doesn’t make me feel better to say, “well if this fails, we know who to blame.”

Why assume I take comfort in it? But, let’s be real. I’m tired of both parties putting important issues on the backs of individuals. We shouldn’t blame individuals for immigration, or the environment, or saving democracy. One family crossing the border or buying a car is nothing when big corporations want cheap labor and pollute the environment.

So, too, with voting. Two major parties are controlling the above and much more with little input from individuals who aren’t donating $1m. So, yes. I’m tired of blaming GenZ and women and POC for not saving democracy, when it has nothing to do with them.

Really the only power most of us have is our one vote each. That does have to do with each of us.

Having two flawed candidates is the way it is almost every election. The flaws are different and worse but the situation is pretty familiar overall.

The next president will get SCOTUS picks and those decisions will force their way into all of our little lives.

Well, many people protest by not voting, but then are blamed. Look, I’m a huge fan of Hillary, but her deplorables comment was beyond the pale. Politicians blame voters instead of self-reflecting, or, god forbid, reading the polls and prioritizing it over dark money.

Sooo much dark money let’s not pretend that my vote or yours is what’s the problem. Both parties need a massive overhaul. I’d hoped the Dems would change, but that doesn’t seem likely at this point. Politicians don’t deserve votes. They earn votes.

Agreed. People see him taking the slings and arrows for the little guy. And he never stops.

Vote for the candidate who determines the next two SCOTUS judges. If you’re a Dem, the only choice is Biden. Those two seats will determine the course of our lives more than anything else. And our children’s lives.

That message isn’t resonating with GenZ. Remember when we were that age? But they are totally forgotten. The Dems have piss poor messaging.
