Bridgerton Season 3

I mean, I kind of agree. He's way hotter and hasn't treated her as poorly as Colin. I think that's why they are setting up the last part of the season to be all about Colin finally realizing what a catch Penelope is. She's smart and sweet and a great life mate along with attractive. She's absolutely the diamond of the season..

Lord Deblin, as in "I'm leaving for three years and I'll probably never love you" Lord Deblin? I like him, and I personally would love that kind of independence as a middle aged woman in 2024, but Penelope is a young, vivacious woman who likes to socialize. She's also romantic and passionate and she'd be unsatisfied with him.

I think they've set it up so that he's now besotted with her, but the shit is going to hit the fan when he finds out she's Whistledown. I think the second half of the season will be about her afraid he'll find out, Eloise threatening to tell him, the revelation briefly breaking them up, and them getting back together in the end.

He was a total jerk.

I like my men tall, dark, handsome and a little misunderstood.

The actor who plays Anthony is gay irl and maybe that’s why he had zero chemistry with Kate. I also found the actresses who played Kate and her sister to be pretty bad. The sister was unattractive too and not how I had pictured her. I couldn’t get into that season at all.

From previews, it looks like they've done a great job improving her dress and style without making her look like an entirely different person. And she and Colin have plenty of chemistry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKhh9VerYms

We are all different. I like to watch shows and movies with gorgeous people. Ordinary people I see outside all day, what’s the fun in that?

That said, I think Pen is beautiful and were she to lose some weight, she would be an absolute stunner. Colin looks good this season too. And Francesca is just gorgeous.

Size 14-18 is midsized?? Honey, I am European and let me tell you, such sizes do not exist outside of the US!

I’ve watched a few episodes. just got to the one where she asks Colin to kiss her so she doesn’t “die without ever having been kissed.”
That’s totally stolen from Little Women! Amy and Laurie!

Just watched all four episodes and there is zero chemistry between Colin and Penelope.

It’s more like the casting that’s laughable not the pairing. The actual story/book is very sweet. It’s just how they have upgraded him and downgraded her.

Is the Penelope character not obese in the book?

lol Nicola Coughlin is not obese, you dimwit.

?!

She is very obviously obese.

Doesn't mean she's a bad actress (she's fantastic, especially this season), or is ugly (she's adorable). But she is obese. If you think otherwise, then you probably need a reality check about your own size.

It’s hard to tell on screen and in gowns. I don’t know exactly how overweight she is, but either way she’s lovely.

+1, I agree with the poster who said she's midsized. I think she reads as heavier in the regency gowns because the style does not emphasize her waist and overplays her chest, which is large for her frame. But I follow her in Instagram and she's actually quite small, just with a big chest. I think the PPs calling her obese would be surprised if they met her in person and discovered she's probably smaller than they are. She's also 5'1", which only exacerbates the issue of the weight the camera and the costuming adds.

Here she is on a recent red carpet. She's naturally very curvy but not obese:

She must have been at her smallest her, not what she looks like now.

This season is so boring.

I’m just not into Colin. Or Penelope. Or anyone this season.

They spent a lot of time in the first episodes on Penelope’s maid, so I’m thinking she figures into the Whistledown Showdown. Maybe she’s going to be a fall guy/front for Penelope/Colin.

I’m very body positive but “obese” is just a question of BMI and it looks to me like she would qualify in this pic. Having been a lot of BMIs myself.

What really turns me off about her in the show is her tiny hands. It’s not her fault lol I just don’t like it.

The carriage scene did not do it for me! Am I the only one? “Straight to fingering” doesn’t seem fun to me, it just seems like they had a costume logistics problem.

I’m sure she doesn’t do nude scenes. It’s in her contract.

Nicola is built like from Sarah snook Succession. Very chesty. I remember Major debates here about her being overweight, etc.
