Everybody's tastes are different: I preferred season 2. |
Me too. The smoldering looks in season 2 were hot. Anthony’s “And it is not far enough!” monologue is everything. Instant classic. Second only to the “My heart calls your name” speech from Queen Charlotte. |

Me too. |
I'm looking forward to it, but worried Colin and Penelope won't have enough chemistry to pull the story off. We'll see tomorrow! |
He was a total jerk. |
Agree with this. The actor is hot but the story was trying to do a kind of Mr. Darcy thing but the story doesn't really offer a redemption for the jerky things he does like Pride & Prejudice does -- you are just supposed to accept that his behavior was okay because of his family stuff. |
I preferred Season 2 to Season 1 as well. I thought the two leads sold their chemistry better.
I adore Nicola Coughlan on Derry Girls and I think she'll sell the heck out of this Season. She's a good actress. |
That's what I meant - since I thought we were discussing the show. |
I liked Season 1, but not enough to watch Season 2. However, I'll give Season 3 a chance. It's refreshing to have a heroine who is charming and smart, but not a supermodel. From previews, it looks like they've done a great job improving her dress and style without making her look like an entirely different person. And she and Colin have plenty of chemistry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKhh9VerYms

I personally think the contrast between her true self and the ridiculous costuming works really well with the "who is Lady Whistledown" really theme. |
Jonathan Bailey had horrible sideburns in the Season 1. When it was his turn to be the lead, the cut his hair and got rid of the sideburns. Instant glow up on an already hot guy. Both Nicola and Luke N are having similar glow ups happening to them. |
They put up the first 5 minutes of episode 1 and Colin definitely got a significant glow up. |
I also preferred season 2.
Did not like the Duke- liar and a jerk. Loved Anthony, loved Kate, loved the dialogue, the story, etc. |
Nicola also looks way better. The wig has softer waves and is more face framing instead of the ridiculous bright red coils she had before, and it looks like they finally started fitting her dresses to her boobs instead of (inexplicably!) running the seam directly across the middle of her chest in order to create the lease flattering silhouette a busty woman can possibly wear. If you've ever seen her on the red carpet, you are aware that she's stunning and has a really great figure, though her chest is in the challenging-to-fit range. They also seem to have toned down the color on her wardrobe -- more pastels and including some greens and blues instead of just neon yellow and pink all the time. So much nicer with her coloring. |
