I know the idea is that her mother is dressing her and her mother is silly, but it's frustrating because she is the only non-waif of the you "marriageable women" on the show and when they giver her those ludicrous red ringlets and then stick her in these bright orange and yellow costumes with cheap looking fabric and tons of crap on them, she looks ridiculous.

I'm sure if you put Phoebe Dynevor or Simone Ashley in garish, tacky costumes and gave them ridiculous wigs, they too would look absurd. I just don't get why they dressed Coughlan for laughs, especially knowing she'd likely be a lead at some point.[b] I think it makes it so much harder to make this pivot.

Jonathan Bailey had horrible sideburns in the Season 1. When it was his turn to be the lead, the cut his hair and got rid of the sideburns. Instant glow up on an already hot guy. Both Nicola and Luke N are having similar glow ups happening to them.

They put up the first 5 minutes of episode 1 and Colin definitely got a significant glow up.

Nicola also looks way better. The wig has softer waves and is more face framing instead of the ridiculous bright red coils she had before, and it looks like they finally started fitting her dresses to her boobs instead of (inexplicably!) running the seam directly across the middle of her chest in order to create the lease flattering silhouette a busty woman can possibly wear. If you've ever seen her on the red carpet, you are aware that she's stunning and has a really great figure, though her chest is in the challenging-to-fit range. They also seem to have toned down the color on her wardrobe -- more pastels and including some greens and blues instead of just neon yellow and pink all the time. So much nicer with her coloring.

I think based on her outfits, her glow up is going to be part of the season. The pink and yellow is a bit over the top on purpose to set up for later contrast.

Nothing sexy about this show and it makes me wonder how boring people’s sex lives are who think this show is “hot”.

+1 the sad truth is that no one cares about Bridgerton without hot leads.

It is true! I hate having to pretend that watching obese or unattractive people in romances is appealing. Same for trans people, no way, and sorry but 99 percent of gay romances just don’t appeal. No hate just truth.

Someone finds romances that look like theirs appealing! Shocking! We definitely shouldn't have gay or trans romances because those are for other people than you.

I'm having some friends over on Saturday and make a Victoria sponge cake. Like, yes, the show is ridiculous but that's also part of the fun of it.

It's out!

It’s so good! I just finished. Not quite as smoldering as season 2, but Penelope is my favorite character so it’s fun rooting for her. But that carriage scene…I’m fanning myself. Nicely done, Nicola. I’m so mad I have to wait until mid-June!

I’m still annoyed they outted Lady Whistledown. I can see how they might be planning to weave it into this season, but the idea that Pen is Lady Whistledown is silly.

+1, Luke N and Nicola are great together. The Queen and Brimsley as everyone’s favorites comedic duo. The actors must just love those roles. Lady D continues to rule. Benedict, be dear and take your shirt off, will you? Sympathy for Cressida, hope Lord D will rescue from your god-awful father

It’s more like the casting that’s laughable not the pairing. The actual story/book is very sweet. It’s just how they have upgraded him and downgraded her.

She's gorgeous. Overweight, but gorgeous. WAY prettier than Daphne was in Season 1.

The Duke was hot, but gay, and it came through. And Daphne looked like a child.

I loved it! Penelope is beautiful and Colin is HOT HOT HOT.
Best season of the three so far. I liked Season 1 overall but didn't think the Duke and Daphne had any chemistry. And while I thought Anthony and Kate smoldered together, I didn't really like Season 2 in general.

I found the carriage ride very very hot, but otherwise did not feel they had chemistry until then.

Violet is so pretty!

+1 She's attractive but let's be realistic, please.

Rege-Jean Page isn’t gay. Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony, is.
