There are abortion initiatives on the ballots in a bunch of battleground states, including Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Florida. |
You can’t honestly say that without acknowledging that both Trump and Kennedy Jr are too old too. So just don’t vote. |
Will we see transfer of votes on Jan6 '25 if B wins? Time to schedule a vacation out of the country right around then. |
Speak for yourself. All of the women I know (we're mid-50s) are sick of Republicans telling our kids what do do with their bodies. |
| PP - absolutely. And I don’t want anyone telling me that I need to be Christian, that white male egos need to be coddled, etc. |

Abortion is on every ballot.
The republicans have stated they want a national ban. It’s on every ballot. |
I often wonder how people like this move about the world, so certain that things are dealt with, done. That young women living in un free states will just decide that’s okay to them, it won’t matter. That abortion somehow doesn’t matter despite the GOP’s obvious plans to nationally ban abortion and birth control, to say it’s all irrelevant to the polls and the election. Baked in. I think people like this are nuts. |
Silly argument. First off despite being older Biden is still the better choice in every way because of who his opponent is. Hands down. Secondly, we all know and have seen that people age differently. As demonstrated.by Trump whose brain has turned to mush. How can anyone honestly believe he is mentally fit for the burdens of the presidency. He falls asleep in court every day. He mangles his words all the time., spews nonsense, has become demonstrably unhinged - just look at his crazed tweets. He’s low energy much of the time and hasn’t been campaigning much - even before the trial or on his days off from it. He has a lifetime of no exercise and eating junk food and has been overweight for much of the last 20 years. That is a terrible recipe for brain health. So the age argument, that he is younger, falls flat. He is younger in years only not mentally or physically. |
It’s pretty simple. I’m looking at poll data in every state, week after week. If abortion were the hot button issue you are so passionately sure it is, it would appear in voters’ motivating issues. It’s not. The issues people are reporting as their priorities are consistently crime, the economy, healthcare and immigration. You seem to want to wish away the poll data that is showing Trump up in every single battleground state as if these passionate abortion motivated voters are in the wings in every one, ready to transform Biden into a lead. I simply don’t buy it. The people who will vote according to abortion rights are already accounted for in the pro Biden count. Where are the voters that will push him into the lead? The youth voters are pissed about Gaza and inflation and for now holding back. And third party candidates can also derail his election. Don’t shoot the messenger! |
This is an absolutely critical issue as has been demonstrated in every election since the overturning of roe. You are missing it but don't worry ...we got you. The voters of this country will begin to fix this problem on election day. It is detrimental to this country to have these repressive backwards bans and the voters are going to fix it. |
Keep your head in the sand then. |
And maybe one of these days "poll results" will actually show up in the voting booths. Republicans have been getting crushed and/or underperforming those polls for years. Trump is still losing 20% of the vote to Haley, who hasn't been in the race for months. |
If you poll older white people, you are going to get a disproportionately pro trump result. Don't know why they think he will help them but some of them do. If they would poll the people that will actually vote, Biden and reproductive rights wins as ha happened time after time. |
It's not a matter of shooting the messenger. It's that the poll doesn't seem to align with what we're actually seeing. It's a close race no matter what. Much too close for comfort - and boy if I don't think we're all going to h**l in a handbasket that half the country wants Trump back. But I think we can see in every election since Dobbs that abortion matters more than polls are saying it does. Will it matter enough to bring Biden back? I sure as f**k hope so. I am not a polls lolz person - I think we should pay attention to them, and also look how they are moving. But I think we need to look at them in context, too. |
Polls also don't capture the dynamic of Trump continuing to malign election integrity and discourage mail-in voting. He's effectively telling people to wait in lines...but hold on, there's no point in waiting in lines because it's all a scam any way. |
