I feel like the crime is masking the fact that she is TERRIBLE in 100 different ways. People are just looking at crime and ignoring everything else.

Between the 911 call center problems and the issues with the DC crime losing accreditation, I think its long overdue to recall Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Underfunding
Test score scandal
Graduation scandal
Suspecting scandal

Public Safety:
Crime trends
911 call center
Crime lab

Housing:
Homeless shelter developer giveaway
Vouchers, everything about them, including paying above market rates
Not providing oversight of voucher recipients

Personnel:
Several scandals and resignations from her top staff

Land use:
Public field giveaways
Public building giveaways

I am aggrieved, but believe it's a waste of time and money. Just wait until next year and vote her out. Just heard a story about the DC Housing Authority. Just add that to her incompetence.

I started this thread. To recall a mayor requires a groundswell of rage. There's not enough people who are fed up with her like I am.

I never voted for her. It was always apparent she wasn't a true leader and was just coasting on the success of her predecessors.

That success has run out, and look where we are in very short order. She is a corrupt failure.

I agree. She is a fighter and an excellent negotiator. More than Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly whose halfhearted plans to keep the then Redskins backfired.

Bowser was the one at the podium with the shirt on, and was relentless over the past few weeks in her efforts. So I give her more credit. Lucas was busy x-ing or tweeting—but yes she deserves credit too since her opposition kept the DC window open.

The hell are you talking about? This deal would be done and dusted if it weren’t for Lucas. She single-handedly stopped it and deserves ALL of the credit.

Leonsis only came back to DC when he realized he had no other option. He even made a last ditch effort to take the teams to Maryland before he finally gave up.

And despite have no bargaining power whatsoever, he managed to secure millions more in funding from DC taxpayers than he would have gotten had Bowser been better organized and gotten the deal done last year.

Same here. I'm a lifelong democrat and I didn't vote for her. She's a joke.
