Should Mayor Muriel Bowser Be Recalled?

Absolutely and there are a few solid choices currently on the Council (Pinto and Henderson). If Pinto became mayor, Ward 2 would likely elect someone similarly moderate and business-friendly. And Pinto would definitely weigh in with an endorsement.

Henderson is more likely to win election as Mayor due to the demographics of the electorate, but she would most likely be replaced on the Council by someone who is more left leaning.

It seems like the best option right now is to support the open primary ballot initiative that will come up for a vote this fall. That's a great way to "improve the options" moving forward.

Nah. I think we’re pretty clear on her popularity. The Secure DC folks polled residents recently and we know what her approval rating is, and it’s in the mid-40’s. While that isn’t Eric Adams bad, it’s dropped substantially since when she was running for her third term and in general, it isn’t great, particularly when she doesn’t even have any rivals and the majority of District residents are Democratic.

Again, I’m not sure why you are projecting - I am not in a white bubble. I was just responding to how people underestimate her popularity. And we’re agreed that she would be reelected today, only because she doesn’t have any rivals. That doesn’t mean she’s popular, or that she’s the right person, it just means her rivals have work to do.

Not providing oversight of voucher recipients

Personnel:
Several scandals and resignations from her top staff

Land use:
Public field giveaways
Public building giveaways

Like I said, off the top of my head.

Every reason you listed is valid and is the reason I started this post. At the beginning I thought Bowser was at least competent. That she could keep the city running.
But that really isn't the case. This term is beginning to show that she does a horrible job of putting quality people in key positions.
People like the whistleblower show that there are people in this city willing to come in and try to do a good job. And that they actually care.
Watch the OP link on ABC. Bowser doesn't try to fix problems. She tries to bury it.
I hope someone has the motivation to begin a recall. I'd join it.

the main problem is, this is her third term and she doesn't have any competent cronies left to fill positions, so she is on the third/fourth tier now, and their lack of experience, lack of vision, lack of anything don't serve the mayor or city at all.

She was never a visionary. She came into the job as a protoge of Adrian Fenty, but her only real experience was as an ANC Commissioner and then Councilmember, but not even a seasoned one at that.

So, no vision and no administrative experience.

And we are seeing it now.

The slogan "Vision Zero" so describes Bowser. The only thing she's somewhat good at is platitudes.
