Oh calm down immigrant. Plenty of American eat like this as well. I’m a third generation American (great grandparents from Germany) and grandparents cooked at home and did not allow sugar, I was raised much the same. |
| Not that often, maybe once every two months, but that said, we order out a few times a month from restaurants and the food is just as unhealthy. |
Vegetarian here who can confirm. |
| Once a week, Chik-fil-a. Sometimes McDs if he really likes the Happy meal toys. |

Most immigrant food is high in carbs, fat and salt. Aldo not many vegetables. |

My 15 year old daughter has a job making over $17 an hour. Minimum wage. She frequently goes to sweet green, chipotle, and other quick serve restaurants with her friends. Dropping $30 for fast food meal is nothing to her because all her earnings are fun money.
But before she was employed, we would go to Wendy’s 2-3 times a year when driving. Anything else was too expensive and not worth it from a taste perspective. My husband, son and I had food poisoning at cava so we have another reason besides cost not to go. A lot of these places just makes u feel sluggish so we avoid. |

mmm this is fun.
My midwest kids eat Popeyes or Wendy's or Culver's or Dominos once a week. More if we're traveling. Of all the hills to die on, this is not the one I'm choosing. |
Why is it that you think every single bite of food you eat must be nutrient dense/healthy/meaningful? Fast food once a week really isn’t a big deal. |
Subway is fast food and it’s foul. I would think they get their ingredients at a discount distributor who specializes in almost expired items. Low quality. Pizza is fast food. You can get vegetarian items at every fast food place |

How did no one mention Boston Market ? They are healthy.
I don't think the menus are all that different. Chicken nuggets have high fat and sodium, grilled chicken nuggets only has a small amount of fat and sodium. The salads have all the info needed to make a decision. It’s really what you choose to eat there. 4 chicken nuggets instead of 12. Small French fires instead of large. Plain hamburger instead of Big Mac. Common sense don’t overeat and choose the healthiest and there’s not a problem. |
| 1-2x / month |
| Very rarely, maybe once or twice a year when traveling. We definitely eat junk food, just at home, and rarely eat out. |
Did you really just write that? I hope it was supposed to be a joke. |
+1. Burger King has an impossible burger, and Taco Bell was the go-to option even when I was a vegan college student 25 years ago. McDonald’s used to have salads, but now it’s just fries and egg McMuffins or fish if you eat that. Subway is gross and if you’re going to eat gross, you may as well get fries with it. |
