Truthfully, how often do your kids eat fast food?

1-2×/wk mainly burgers/fries/pizza from walk in restaurants

I guess I mean foods that are considered unhealthy or low nutritional value. So yes, drive thru burgers, chicken nuggets, pizza etc.

Cava & Chipotle have healthy options. Well, Cava more so.

Just when we travel...but there are lots of unhealthy choices at many restaurants so I would not feel so badly about McDs.

The younger ones:
McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell: maybe once a month
Cava, Chipotle, BurgerFi, pizza: a few times a month
Traditional sit-down restaurants: once a week, usually on Sunday

The older ones who have their own money & licenses to drive: 2-4 times a week if not more.

Twice a week chick FIL a. A couple times a month nandos. We even let them have the fake fruit punch there when we go sometimes. They are skinny active kids. I think there’s some paranoia around this. The obesity epidemic in kids is caused by much more extreme behavior of junk food and lack of activity/screen time.

Couple pizzas a month, WaWa on road trips, etc.

Feels like I don't see that many of the 70s fast-food places around these days, at least not in town.

Yes - they aren't fast food but just as bad. High fat and sodium. A granola bar vs a snickers bar. It is marketed as being healthier.

My kids absolutely love Cava and I don't feel guilty getting it for them. Lots of veggies.

About once each year or two - when we're in California and near an In-n-Out during a meal time.

How are Cava and Chipotle not fast food?

When I was growing up, my mom, a single mom working FT and going to school at night, would take us to the McD drive through so often that the workers knew us lol.

I am a little embarrassed about it thinking back, but no real harm done now that I'm grown.

Now we eat fast food maybe once a month. Ordered pizza for dinner over the weekend, and previously would have been take out pho a few weeks back. I did go to McD in december for some chicken nuggets and boy were they delicious!

Why don’t think they love it so much? Would you dump salad dressing on a salad? Sure you are getting your vegetables but you are also getting a bunch of sodium and saturated fat.
Healthier than a Big Mac? Sure. But don’t fool yourself that it is healthy

Lol you think a granola bar isn’t just a candy bar with a different name.
