Bikini at 49

It’s really up to you and how comfortable you feel in one OP I actually don’t feel comfortable in bikinis due to my Muslim upbringing so I tend to wear a one piece or a tankini. If you feel comfortable in one wear one. If you feel like you are exposing too much skin, don’t. I think the best judge is yourself and age shouldn’t factor in.

I didn't wear one till college and am feeling more confident in my 40s. I look better than I did then physically as I work out now and have more curves as I grew older (no surgery), I was very skinny. If you feel confident, go for it.

I am a size zero at 45 (three kids, 5'5" 100lbs 32DD) and will wear one forever. My Mom is over 70 and wears one to the beach and still bodysurfs/swims in the ocean.

Yuck!

Yuck? Are you nuts? A body like hers is SAF. She’s in great shape.

(Signed, 53 year young man - also in great shape)

5-5 and 100 pounds is a bmi of 16.6. It’s anorexic. Great shape means having muscle mass and tone.

Anorexic according to who?

I am 47 and wear a bikini. I look damn good in one, so I don’t care if frumpy housewives don’t like it.

Wear what you want. There are several older (early 50s-mid 60s) women at our pool who wear more athletic-style vs. string bikinis. They look fine, they are in good shape.

48 here. I can never find a one piece or tank that fits me - I'm super short with no torso to speak of. Bikini's fit. So I wear them.

Wear whatever you feel good in. Ignore any haters. They are attacking due to their own insecurities. Not your problem. Have fun at the beach.

Team “wear whatever you want.” If someone else has a problem with it because you don’t look like a 22 year old Victorias Secret model circa 2005, that’s their problem. There’s all kinds of bodies in all kinds of swimwear at the pool and the beach.

That!
Go to a beach in France --- les mesdames will wear bikinis, even in size 48+ and frequently sans top

No.

I’m 43 and I’ll wear one when I’m on vacation especially if it’s an island where topless is OK. But around the DMV pools I wear a one piece because I know some of the moms will not like me and some of the husbands will. I’m a personal trainer so I’m still very fit.

Yes. A few trips to the south of France and Spain convinced me to not stop unless I want to. Zero fs given.
