Bikini at 49

Do it! The law states that everyone over 40 years of age gets to do whatever she wants without caring about the opinions of others.

I don't make the rules.

When men over a certain age are required to wear swim shirts you can start demanding women wear one piece. Until then wear what you like, even if you have a belly. Who cares. Not like one piece can hide flabby legs or saggy arms. Aging isn’t a prison sentence.

It doesn't matter how in shape you are but is it what you are comfortable in.

I am team every body is a bikini body. If you want to wear one, and it is legally allowed, go for it.

2 pieces are easier to put on, go to the bathroom in, more adjustability for sizing differences. Love em.

49 yr f and will always wear bikinis. I'm not toned, my top is smaller than my bottom, but I'll be rocking my two piece until I can't go to a beach/pool anymore. I put on a rash guard for sun protection, and take it off for quick drying.

Because men like me love b00bs

Do it if you want. I don't want to look.

Do it if you want but you're trying too hard

You need to get pushed out on an ice floe, I’m very sorry. No bikinis ever.

What do you think will happen? Are the bikini police going to kick you off the beach?

DCUM is well known for ***fReAkinG oUt*** over women in bikinis. Apparently if you're a minor teen, it's gross, and if you're an adult teen, it's the only time you're allowed to wear one. Beyond that, you really should keep that for an adult-only tropical beach vacay at an adult-only resort. And if you dare to wear one past 40, all hell breaks loose. The biddies are deathly scared you're going to steal their husbands, apparently.

A couple of years ago, I actually posted a pic of the bikini I had just bought and asked if I could wear it to the community pool. Wow, did that thread get nasty.

And the women who wear them are desperate to put down their merits as to why it’s ok (giant tetas! Like noooo stretch marks!) - instead of just wearing the thing because it’s a suit they love.

My SIL is 50 and is in great shape; she wears a bikini and looks fabulous.

I am a size zero at 45 (three kids, 5'5" 100lbs 32DD) and will wear one forever. My Mom is over 70 and wears one to the beach and still bodysurfs/swims in the ocean.

Yuck!

That was my though. I envisioned a skeletal woman with flappy elephant skin hanging from her bum and balloon fake tits (or saggy tits to her belly), so common in southern Europe. On the other hand, I do think she should wear whatever she wants.

OP - I’m 5’4 120lbs and muscular fit. I prefer a one piece, but also have a 2 piece. Personally, I wear clothes on the beach and a coverup because I’m pale and freckled so I don’t want the sun. Seriously, no one looks at middle aged women except to make fun of them. Do what you are comfortable with.

If you're working out, alot of women may have the same or better body as in their 20s. Not sure why bikinis even would prompt a "i don't care what other people think' for this age.

Because I'm 10 years past caring what others think about anything.

This is separate from my feelings about my appearance.

Haven't worn a bikini since my 20s. If I could, I would! Go for it!

There are also other sexy options like some longer tops on a two-piece (more like a crop top look) and boy shorts also cute.

Go for it. I know a lot of women who wear bikinis in their 50s and they look good honestly many women in their 20s and 30s should not be wearing bikinis due to morbid obesity
