Bikini at 49

I think it’s fine, at any shape or weight. I would definitely get a fuller coverage version of a 2 piece, as to not embarrass my teens, but you do you.

wear the suit you like

i'm 50 and i am not six feet tall and 85 pounds with 32XXX boobs, and i wear a bikini because i find it more comfortable than a one piece. i wear granny styles because i am a prude in addition to a bikini wearer.

I'm 50 and have no plans to give up my bikini. I'm partial to a triangle top with a hipster string bottom with full-ish backside coverage. I feel like it flatters my figure, is comfortable, feels secure on my body so that I can swim, dive, run around, and is easy for bathroom breaks. DCUM community pool biddies can cram it. Wear what you want.

Speak for yourself. I'm 55, look amazing in a bikini and get lots of attention. Working out for the last 35 years has definitely made all the difference.

I am a size zero at 45 (three kids, 5'5" 100lbs 32DD) and will wear one forever. My Mom is over 70 and wears one to the beach and still bodysurfs/swims in the ocean.

Yuck!

She was 5’6 the other day…

There was a time when I would’ve said no. Now I think …wear what you want, Op.

Enjoy!

I'm all about functionality when swimming and at the beach. If you can enjoy the sun and water wearing a bikini, have at it. No body is really looking at us anyway.

I don't really want to wear a bikini anymore, but I do not think there's an age limit where you can't wear one. I see women of all ages, shapes and sizes wearing them any time I go to a beach.

I tend to prefer more sun coverage in general now, and my kids make fun of my zip up UV clothing I wear, but the skin cancer I had removed last year was enough for me change my suit style from "ooh cute" to "what covers the most?"

Glad almost everyone is saying yes. But to those saying 'dgaf'.... i mean, 49 is not old. It's typically pre menopause. If you're working out, alot of women may have the same or better body as in their 20s. Not sure why bikinis even would prompt a "i don't care what other people think' for this age.

it looks best if you are size 0-2
