Wut.

I would have guessed "New Dancing with the Stars cast member." This makes me sad. Kate is a beautiful, elegant woman. She didn't have to do that to her face. I even think this dress and jewelry is fun and looks good on her! But she's unrecognizable. It's okay to be a beautiful older woman!

The headpiece is kind of ridiculous but I actually appreciate her commitment to having this whole Dior new look moment with it. Why not? Fashion is supposed to be fun and this is pretty fun.

Hair, makeup, and necklace are great. I don't think I like this color on her? It doesn't look bad but it doesn't feel like it suits her either. The dress itself is pretty boring. That neckline isn't great on her.

I don't hate it but she can do much, much better.

I love this. I just commented on Kate Beckinsale looking unrecognizable and Anderson is the inverse. She always looks like herself, and I'm sure she has work done to look "fresh" and relatively youthful, but she just looks so elegant and refined. Like a grown up.

This dress should read as bridal but the say she's styled makes it work. I love her as a blonde. I love that swept back hair look. I even like the weird purse which gives the whole thing some modernity. Kudos all around.

Bridal, ha ha. Have you zoomed in on the damask pattern in the fabric of this dress?

I do not like her with this slicked back hair. I think the neckline level is fine but this was one of several dresses from the night with cut outs/sheerness that created some weird shadows on the red carpet. There were several shots of this dress where the lacing near her midsection had some weird dark spots that just looked... weird. I'm not a prude but I think the dress should have been designed for the lacing to go over the hip so it doesn't look so ready for a gyno appointment. You can be sexy without making people wonder if we are can see your vagina.

Haha, I had not but that's hilarious. And very on brand for her and for her show. Love it.

Was it really hot where the event was held? Or is the space just lit really weirdly? Everyone looked so washed out and ill, like a roomful of flu patients!

Another example of a dress that would look great in a color. Any. Color.

Oh gosh I LOVED her in The Holdovers and I am so happy she won - but that dress was making me so nervous. I worried she was one deep breath away from spilling right out of it! (I don't have much in the way of boobs so perhaps my anxiety was misplaced - maybe anyone with boobs would know that she was secure in there.)

I am with you. I too was excited she won but I was so afraid she was gonna fall out. I think it was not a wise dress choice.

I disagree. I know quite a bit about dress construction and she was very secure in this dress.

The thing about having boobs this size is that for red carpet, your option is to cover them up or just accept that they will be the focal point of your look. Unlike casual wear, there are simply fewer options for styling in terms of layering, and with a dress you have to make a neckline choice. I think people should do what they are comfortable with and have no issue with it either way. But I like that she decided to say "screw it, I have big boobs and I'm gonna show them off." The construction on this dress was impeccable. Not just the bust, but the peplum as well. You could tell she just really loved how she looked and that's a huge part of it too.

Anyway, I didn't worry about a wardrobe malfunction and I guarantee she didn't either -- she knows what has to be in place to make sure her boobs aren't going anywhere and she looked completely comfortable in it.

I thought they all looked washed out too and wondered if it was a lighting thing. I haven't gone to look on Instagram where people will often post closeups of their makeup that might show whether everyone really had this very neutral, washed out make up or if it was a lighting thing. I was surprised at all the pale lips. A few people went for bright red but there was little in between. J Lo and Sheryl Lynn Ralph looked great but everyone else looked a little wan.

What's up with the bottom fray? Was it on purpose? A last minute hem?

Why was she there? It's a pretty tight space so I would assume only nominees are invited. Rachel Brosnahan? JLo? Elle Fanning?

Her Eras tour movie was nominated. Rachel Brosnahan and Elle Fanning were nominated for their respective shows (Mrs. Maisel, The Great). JLo wasn't up for anything but she and Ben have both been nominated multiple times before and are very high profile. Did one of them present? It's not weird they were there.

Why wouldn’t you assume she was nominated?
