Stuffed shells are a perfect Christmas meal especially if you stuff with spinach and cheese and serve with a red sauce. |

Christmas Eve- we do seven fishes, including caviar and shrimp cocktail as appetizers. Haven’t figured out rest of fish this year- probably homemade crab ravioli and salmon as the main.
Christmas Day- filet mignon, roast fingerling potatoes, asparagus. Big seasonal salad. And Christmas cookies for dessert. |
That is ingenious! Are you making them or buying them? |

Day:

| Ok now I want to do prime rib. Where to buy? How to cook? I’m from a local family in the Midwest and we did ham or turkey at the holidays but this sounds delicious. Would need to add a non red meat main for one eater. Thanks! |

Christmas Eve - probably pizza
Christmas Day - Repeat of Thanksgiving plus beef tenderloin |
How do some of you cook all of this stuff? |
I’m that PP. It’s a combination of buying frozen or pre-made (Wegmans crab cakes, Beecher’s Mac and cheese, Costco panko shrimp, bread from local bakery), pre-cut/cleaned veggies (green beans, butternut squash), DH smoking the prime rib, and just timing out the prep and cook times appropriately. Plus I genuinely enjoy the meal planning and cooking aspect. So that helps too! |

We have a good family chili recipe. The post upthread about chili inspired me.
We were supposed to go away but have a feverish, sick kid so will be home and we need to create a food plan. For Xmas Eve Dinner: Might order Chinese or Ethiopian food For Xmas brunch: Bahn mi sandwiches and blueberry French toast For Xmas dinner: Chili Roasted sweet potatoes Roasted brussels sprouts Boxing day: Eat leftovers We are good cookie bakers yet not sure we'll be able to pull them off at this late stage. I think we'll visit the grocery and buy whatever baked goods look tasty. |
| Ham, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, peas (as a soup) green beans, sarma(Cabbage rolls) etc... |
| Cheese, crackers, smoked salmon. Butternut squash soup. Beef bourguignon. Roasted veggies. Cabbage and apples salad. Fennel and orange salad. Yule log, cookies, and sticky toffee pudding. |
Local butcher. 6.5 lbs for $170 |
I’m not the PP, but I space things out over a few days. I’m making the rolls today, which can be reheated on Christmas Day. I’m also making the desserts today. I will make scalloped potatoes in the morning (again, to be reheated before serving), and my prime rib in the afternoon. I will make the sides (green beans or Brussels sprouts) while the prime rib roasts. For Christmas breakfast, we are having waffles, so I wil make the batter before I go to bed. |
| Red pozole tonight, Chinese tomorrow. It’s going to be great. |
