No dinner on Christmas? |
| No vegetarians here? I am looking for no meat suggestions if you have them. |
I’ve done lasagna in the past. Vegetarian shepherd’s pie (with mushrooms, impossible meat, or some combination thereof) could also work. |

Christmas Eve
Baked salmon Roasted potatoes Ikea meatballs w/ lingonberries Cheeseboard Hummus & veggies Crackers Mushroom pate Roasted veggies White lasagne Quiche |
|
Roast chicken with a cranberry/orange glaze (it's just 4 for dinner and a turkey or ham seems like too much)
Sweet potato casserole Salad Homemade rolls Yule log cake |
| Christmas Day: I’m taking my first stab at my family/culture’s traditional Christmas meat, pernil (slow-roasted, heavily seasoned pork shoulder). Sweet potato casserole, slow cooker mac and cheese, and an arugula and pomegranate salad with a balsamic-honey dressing (these are not traditional sides). And Pinot noir! |
Usually leftovers from Christmas Eve. I tried to even just do a lasagna on Christmas, and no one really wanted to eat. We all tend to stay in pajamas all day on Christmas, and we use Christmas Day as downtime and cleaning up present craziness. |
Stuffed shells! |
I had a neighbor who made homemade manicotti on Christmas. It was amazing. They weren’t vegetarian but this dish was meatless. |
Yes - Shepherd’s Pie and stuffed shells are both great ideas. Thank you. I was thinking some veggie version of gumbo might be fun (if that even exists). |
| Lamb provencale (one dish meal, with rack of lamb, rosemary and garlic potatoes , and baked tomatoes)-yum! |
We’re doing individual beef wellingtons and mushroom wellingtons. |
