Christmas Eve this year we are doing a sausage, pepper, and pasta dish with an arugula sald.

Christmas Day we do chestnut soup, beef tenderloin, Yorkshire pudding, twice baked potatoes, and green beans. For dessert this year I think we are just going to the dozens of cookies my mom made and some ice cream.

Christmas Eve (dinner for 7)- prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, salad, rolls, individual lava cakes
Christmas lunch (large party for 25+, severed buffet)- turkey breast, stuffed shells, sausage and peppers, salad, green beans, focaccia bread, mac and cheese, lots of desserts that guests bring and possibly random sides that guests bring but always works out

Deciding between one of two menus:

Prime rib
Baked potatoes
Roasted brussel sprouts
Green salad with oranges and grapefruit
Chocolate pots de creme

Pork loin roast
Roasted sweet potato wedges & apples
Asparagus
Spinach salad with pomegranate and goat cheese
Lemon yogurt cheesecake (saw a recipe in NY Times cooking and it looks delicious)

Whichever one we choose, we'll probably have the other on NYE.

Not sure I'm in the majority with this, but I love a pork loin roast, pretty much better than anything else.

We always do leg of lamb. The Nero Wolfe recipe. Sides and dessert tbd but likely rice pilaf, sautéed spinach with garlic, roasted carrots and parsnips if I can find them. Dessert there are a million good options but something gingery is most likely.

Turkey and ?

Spouse ordered a turkey but I can't decide what to do with it that won't feel like a thanksgiving repeat. I like the idea of a spinach side that I see here.

Christmas Eve is prime rib roast with all the trimmings, including crispy English potatoes and yorkshire pudding, followed with traditional plum pudding.

Can't say I'm looking forward to it as I've lost my taste for beef in recent years, but it is the tradition. I do still love the plum pudding, however. If I had my way I'd keep the plum pudding and do a roast leg of lamb or pork.
