The best Dems can hope for is Trump becoming the GOP nominee as that would give Biden the best chances at being re-elected and a Trump nomination would also provide for a relatively easy path to victory for any other Dem nominee should Biden change his mind and back out of the 2024 race.

Shhh… or we’ll have the DNC supporting Trump in order to preserve their own power. I agree with your analysis, which is why I watched the R debate tonight. I could live with Christie or maybe Nikki. The others are too conservative (DeSantis) or crazy (Vivek Ranaswamy).
