Good point. It's as if people think the D & R parties are irreplaceable public entities that function per some government mandated protocols. They aren't and their protocols obviously need some tweaking considering what appears will happen in 2024. |
D & R should have a DNR order. Agree that it is weird that people here seem to think these parties must be the only parties forever more. They need some shake ups. |
Why does the DNC need a shake up? What platform are they promoting that are not popular with voters? What have their candidates done to undermine our country? |
They have become too corporate. They say nice things but the progressives in particular don’t have realistic plans. Unfettered immigration (which the GOP supports too) is hurting lower and middle class Americans. Promoting the under reporting of and ignoring crime is also hurting people. Hard to say that crime is actually down in some places. This leads to distrust in public sentiment about government services. Education with muddy assessment of student skills does not help kids get better and get ahead. To be sure, there is some good to go along with the bad but more and more it feels like the Ds are more about the illusion of moving this country forward. You asked specifically about the Ds, so I’ll stop there. |
What has the Republican Congress done to ease immigration? They block all attempts at solutions just to make sure Biden looks bad. And don’t even try to blame problems with education on Democrats. Thankfully the majority in this country see through the antics. Biden will win again. |
The ideals of most American voters aren't what allowed for a Donald Trump presidency or a very likely 2024 match-up of two candidates that a majority of American don't even want to see on the ballots. Leadership weaknesses in our two political parties are the roots of these problems. |
| If Trump wins then democracy is over so it doesn't matter what the DNC does. It really is as simple as that. |
| Hint folks: When you see "Democracy", replace it with "Our policies". |
No. I think democracy works quite well in the sentence as is. |
Dean Phillips was too incompetent to get on the Florida primary ballot by the state convention which was held from Oct. 27 - 29. He launched his campaign Oct 27. Biden was approved as the only candidate Oct 29. Phillips’s campaign first reached out to the Florida Democratic Party on Nov 22. They need ten days’ notice to consider candidates, not negative 23 days. |
OK. Democracy is over in that scenario, what then? No, elections, etc. What do people do then? |
These party rules and protocols sure do make a lot of sense for those rich and powerful people that determine the rules and protocols. |
In reality, Ds must be OK if Trump wins, because it seems they’re lack of a plan just means status quo. |
The question posed was about the Dems. |
|
I thought I saw a headline the other day that was along the lines of Biden deciding to run or not. He needs to step down. IMO the GOP will stop focusing on Trump if he does. Otherwise, it will be Biden v. Trump 2.0 and Biden will likely lose. He "got us into war" (GOP talking point), and he's "too old" (everyone under 40). Biden will be 100% responsible for Trump burning down the country.
Too many fragile male egos around that ignore focus on the common good when the stakes are sky high. Let other GOP and Dems duke it out. |
