We’ve known each other a few years and are pretty close. Pretty sure he is telling the truth. He also had not been with many women before marriage. There’s a lot of intimacy between us. Overweight women and less attractive women do a lot to stroke selfish egos and cater to men who cheat. I work in a male dominated field and hear locker room talk. Overweight women and less attractive women will have anal sex and not ask for anything in return, even a fast food meal.

Less attractive women accept less and are easier overall- they don’t have boundaries. They allow men to walk all over them and go along with it, happily. That’s why instead of getting a man devoted to them, they accept crumbs from an already taken man.

Yes- the ow/ap relationship exists in a fantasy world because the stressors of actual marriage don’t exist in a side relationship.

2nd marriages fail at a higher rate because once the cheater leaves the current spouse, the second spouse becomes the wife and the same pattern repeats. The marriage to the ap fails statistically at a greater percentage because the cheaters thought their fantasy relationship would exist irl. The ap isn’t the ap anymore-she’s the nagging wife.

Content doesn’t mean happy. He’s comfortable in his marriage. Divorce would bring discomfort so he is willing to foregoing chance at happiness to avoid alimony, CS, and family therapy.

Not according to me; according to men who I hear talk about such things.

The overweight and less attractive women who sleep with these men cater to the men. The women don’t get dates, flowers, any public recognition (no appearances in public together) etc. The men don’t have any priority for these women even though the women are sleeping with them, having unprotected sex, etc. The lack of boundaries makes these women attractive, not appearance or personality. The men are using these women. The women have low self esteem and poor or no boundaries so they accept the treatment and do not value themselves. If my female family members or friends allowed men to treat them like this I would be horrified and sad. Yet the men use the bait and switch of “hidden” romance, lie about their “unhappy” marriages, and promote secrecy in the “relationship” as an excuse to ignore these women, except when the man wants to have quick sex.
