Haha. My DC was accepted to both last year and chose GT. GT definitely is recognized as more prestigious nationally (ask people on the west coast what they think), and is a much better choice for anyone interested in foreign service, law, policy, politics, etc. |
^ it’s GU ![]() |
Nobody w a kid at Georgetown would use “GT” |
California has more kids at ND than any other state |
eh, it’s internet short hand. We all know what we mean. People get fussy that VT is Vermont. But at DCUM we know it's usually Virginia Tech. Cause we’re smart like that. |
California is the most populous state, so it is unsurprising that it is well-represented. According to College Factual, 11.5% of undergraduates at GU are from California, while 8% at Notre Dame are from California. New York is the state that provides the biggest share of GU's students. For Notre Dame, it is Illinois. The pie charts below are different but not radically so: https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/georgetown-university/student-life/diversity/chart-geographic-breakdown.html https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/university-of-notre-dame/student-life/diversity/chart-geographic-breakdown.html |
Neither. Boston College. |
I agree w this. Not radically different. Disagree that GU is more well known. |
DS knows 6 kids, other than himself ED1 to BC. |
Those two pies make Georgetown look way more regional. NY/NJ/va and California. Whereas ND has a lot more beefier slices. |
The difference is FOOTBALL. That’s what makes the difference. |
BC is clearly a step down. |
In my day, Georgetown basketball was a thing. For sure
I’m in favor of these big revenue-generating sports. They’re fun, they bring a campus together, it’s a fun thing for kids to do. I dislike squash and fencing and those sports. But college football/bball? FUN! |
True. I call troll on the OP. |
