DD applied to both ND and Georgetown early action. We really think she'll get into both and are already discussing the differences, the pros and cons. Any insights on the schools from people who have kids there now. Things besides academics as both are great in that regard. Thank you. |
These are very different schools , it seems like after visiting you would have a clear preference |
These two schools were top choices for my kid for business program.
My kid applied to both REA saying doesn't mind school being close to home. Got in ND and waitlisted at GT. Visited both schools, fell in love with ND, withdrew from GT. |
+1. These schools are completely different. I wouldn't even let my kid apply to both. Have your kid visit. They should have a clear preference. |
I don't get it. There are several similar posts on this board today-- don't jinx things (or get hopes up). Admissions decisions are fickle. You have until April to decide. Relax (and consider writing your RD applications). |
You are not allowed to apply EA to both. |
Seriously, there are already multiple threads on this very topic, including on whether you can apply EA to both or not. And I don't mean to make you upset, but in fact, she is most likely to get into neither than into both. |
if it's SCEA, but it's only REA for ND and GT, so you can. |
+1 OP, stop asking to compare schools (ie: trolling) - especially if they have nothing to do with the other. You have to visit in person. |
+1 |
Just the settings alone are so different that I find it hard to believe someone wouldn't have a preference for one over the other. |
Of course every school is different. Two most similar factor for my kid was both have highly regarded business programs. Two most different factor for my kid was one is very close to home and one is a bit away from home. |
Wow. |
Kid won’t get into both and will be lucky to get into one. Notre Dame won’t admit types who they know are on the fence about going elsewhere, so hope DD did a good deep fake. Georgetown, meanwhile, is a way more competitive admit than its already low admission rate would indicate. |
Agree. |
