Can someone please list the negatives of the Muldoon Farms fields that had noticeable and real impacts on the games? Please be specific. |
Muldoon is where you earn your stripes...this generation is soft...the fields are fine. There are over 100 division 1 soccer players from BSC that played on those fields. |
They are often sloped, frequently have uneven surfaces, and if it rains they're immedietly marsh-like. They're OK for smaller kids, but it's crazy to have top U14 teams playing there. |
I’m not trying to defend BSC. You can attack the club and fields to your heart’s content. Just pointing out that instead of being angry and whiny about the field situation you and the other angry posters could be taking in the beauty of the scenery and enjoying watching your kid play. |
You can do both, you know. Yes, it a pretty drive out there, but the fields suck, they have sucked for ages, and they're not appropriate for a tournament that wants to be considered one of the best in the country. Period. |

This entire post is SAD...I was hoping to see anything about the teams that played won looked good....instead all I get to read about is some privileged parents complain about grass fields being wet and grassy...Deal with it Karen/Brian
It is confirmed if you continue to cry about these fields you are a grade A KITTY KAT |
| The fields are the reason our team will never play that tournament again. It's not that kids shouldn't experience crappy fields for practices etc., but to charge a fortune and then have to play on parallelogram-shaped fields on a slope and claim to be a prestigious tourney is hubris. |
Relax Mr./Mrs. Muldoon, we get it lmao |
Oh gosh, I didn't know it was confirmed! C'mon people, you better stop complaining! |
Honestly it's not a real competition when you are playing on a cow pasture. Its a game of strength, chance and the fortune of the wind. |
Sounds like players/teams with technical skills have an advantage over the kick & runners
Wait, or is it the opposite? haha |
Bad fields are the great equalizer. Hurts skilled teams ar more than lesser teams. That's why lower league teams in the FA Cup tend to let their fields go to crap when playing top teams. |
Yep. My prediction for the U14 boys age group this weekend is that Loudon and Laurel will do well, because of this (physical, running teams). Alexandria will be at a disadvantage (small, skilled team). This is based on seeing these teams over a couple years so this year's versions may be different. |
| It's a pretty clear Bethesda doesn't think this is a top tournament since they didn't even put their own top boys teams in it. |
MLS Next teams have no place in a tournament like this, and they have most of their teams below that. What else do you want? |
